Good sushi, very fast. Enjoyed the different types of sushi we ordered. I also appreciated the instructions included in the menu about how to order and how to enjoy!!

Many of the high-end Ginza sushi bars are not only cost-prohibitive and unapproachable, especially for novices or beginners. It would be a huge waste of money to visit a $300 sushi omakase for those who have never had sushi before. Sushi Zanmai is a great...More

Comparing to other medium price great sushi places like Nemuro Hanamaru in the KITTE mall behind Tokyo Station or KatsuMidori inside Sebu in Shibuya; Sushizanmai which is a chain that opens 24 hours (and I'm evaluating the Asakusa location) is much more costly. Though we've...More

The quality of the sushi is fairly good, and there are English captions and lots of photos to help you choose. If you go for early breakfast, be prepared to see hungover Japanese there, some still coming down from partying - you likely will be...More

The quality of the sushi here is nothing to shout about. It’s decent, reasonably priced and they have an English menu.

Visited here with husband and 2 boys (14 and 10). We had to queue outside for some time before we were seated and once inside it was extremely busy and loud. Menu was fairly pedestrian as far as sushi goes and quality was nothing special....More

Recommended by a friend, visited here as all the shops in Ueno are closed except for the food joints. The most 'halal' menu i can find. Loved the experience.

My first sushi experience was in Tsukiji. We went to a sushi place, Sushizanmai. And since then, nothing could ever compare to the quality and the price points! Currently, we are in Ueno. To my surprise, my hotel is just a five minute walk from...More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
