The reviews at the place are all true at least all the 5 star ones!!! I been past this place a few times and always seen a line out the front (even well after lunch time) so I did some research and looked it up....It's listed by Trip Advisor as the "2020 Travelers Choice" and Time Out as the "Best Udon in Tokyo" and it's also not too far from my house, so pretty convenient for me. So I set off to check it out. I went at 1400 as I did not want to wait too long in the lunch line. When I arrived the place was still full from the lunch rush and I waited outside and was handed a menu. Soon there was a line behind me. After a short wait I was ushered in and with a small wait, I received my Hot Udon with tempura and topping of beef and takenoko (bamboo shoot). I was pretty hungry and this did not disappoint at all!!! The undo here is made fresh every day and it was tender with just a little bite to it. The broth was delicate but tasty and the toppings of beef (delicious) and takenoko really made this a full meal on its own. The tempura was also really well made with crisp batter, really fresh prawns, and a small assortment of other vegetables served with it. Absolutely outstanding!!!! I will be back.More

Possibly one of my favourite dish ever. For sure the best udon I have ever had. Butter, soft boiled egg and pepper udon are a dream for vegetarians. I visit anytime in Tokyo and wait as long as it takes.

The title says it all. I had 4 hours before my flight was departing Tokyo back to the states, I waited in line (yes there may be a line, wait!) and was anxious as time was running out.. at moments I thought I'd done something...crazy to try and squeeze this last meal in, but ALAS! This was 1000% worth the trip and the associated anxiety from rushing (my own fault). I can only speak to the one Udon I had, but it was INCREDIBLE. They take your orders why you wait, so that it does cut down time just waiting at the table. Overall, maybe 30 minutes from arriving I was eating one of the most delicious meals of my life. If you like noodles, udon, good things, and food in general- check this place out. It's small though, so again, you may have a slight wait, but it is very much worth it.More

We decided to visit here after seeing it recommended online, and are glad we did! Although we were prepared to wait and had read there could be long waiting times, we arrived at around 6.30pm and were seated straight away. Fantastic Udon and tempura served...hot and fast. Lovely friendly service and a cute little spot. Highly recommended and worth the wait (if there is one).More

We went to eat here since it popped up being highly rated and close(ish) to where we were staying in Shinjuku. We decided to walk there in the light drizzle. The shop was a little hard to find, kind of tucked away on a side...road, with minimal signage. When we arrived the place was already packed with people so we had to wait. While waiting the waitress handed us the menu and told us to go ahead and order. We placed our order in and by the time we were seated (bar seating), the food quickly arrived. A little note about the restaurant, it is tiny, probably one of the smallest that we’ve dined in. It was actually pretty uncomfortable sitting at the bar because the customers on either side of us used a lot of elbow room so we had to eat with our elbows tucked in more than was comfortable. The two tables or so that was there, is very close to the main path so you easily be knocked in the head if someone put on a coat or something. The udon itself was so delicious!! I’m not sure if they make their own noodles, but the broth and toppings was so divine! 10/10 would go back again!More

Best tiny dinner spot we found in Tokyo. Home made udon noodles, freshest tempura we’ve ever had and a very organized staff. What’s more enjoyable is the little side street location and tiny seating area ( 2 tables and 5 bar seats). The line was...long the first time we went and you wait outside, so if it was raining it would’ve been a bummer.More

I have traveled the World and when I find a restaurant that I love, I go back again and again....probably eaten here at least 25 times. The food and service is always consistent. The line out the door in summer is long, so go early....The consistency is remarkable for a great price. I just wish it were a little more roomy to bring more friends along to share the experience. No one has ever been disappointed. The best Tempura and Udon in Japan.More

Delicious Udon and friendly service. A small place so I can imagine there's a line when it's busy. We went on a Monday night, no line, no regrets 😊 the staff were also very helpful showing me which sauce to try with my meal.

Absolutely worth the wait in line, make sure you order the beef and egg udon. Noodles are made in front of you and you can taste the love in every bite!

They close at 10 some nights and the queue can be long so you might get turned away if you arrive at that time!
