Everything from service to food and its portion is perfect. The broth is flavourful yet not too thick. The chili spice can be chosen to level of heat you want. The only thing I hate? The queue. Be prepared for long wait.

There is a lot of hype around this chain and due to the often long queues I have been unwilling to visit them until now (April 2021) as there are a lot less foreigners in town making the lines a lot shorter or non existence....Also I have a few very good local places that I frequent and am really happy with their product but for the sake of comparison and to satisfy my curiosity I needed to try them out. I'm so glad that I did. I was impressed!! No waiting time and their automated ordering/ticket vending machines, as well as their personal booths that they have for you to sit in are well designed with everything you need - water, hashi & oshibori, a pen to fill in the final preferences for your order. From looking at photos of others I thought this seemed a little impersonal but with Covid I guess it's an excellent system. But sometimes I like to see the guy behind the counter making my ramen and watching him tend to the stock or boiling eggs and peel them or even having a little light banter with the owner/chef.I got the 1550yen (or thereabouts) set that includes ramen with green onions, extra chashu, and egg, kikurage and 2 sheets or nori. I guess I was ready to be harsh with my review as they are a chain with a lot of hype surrounding them as I said before but I really really enjoyed my ramen!! With the preference sheet you can really be specific about the richness, level of spice, tenderness of the noodles and a few other preferences. They hit the mark in every way!!! Excellent level of spice, and perfect "bite" to the noodles and the soup (that dreamy pork broth) was just pure awesome. I still like my local places but I guess that with Ichi Ramen, being a chain, they are able to deliver consistency all day every day, whereas one time out of a hundred, one of my local places will just miss the mark on say the soup (not tasting just right) or the noodles. Well done Ichi Ramen I will be back.More

Ichiran is the most famous ramen house in Tokyo which you can see everywhere in the city. Tried the one at the East of Shinjuku train station in the early afternoon on Saturday. Had to be in queue for about a half an hour which...starts from the street to the basement dining spot. Very popular spot for tourist as two third of customers are tourists. Order at the vending machine - a typical Tokyo style! Toppings cost extra. Once you are done with order at vending machine, you will be handed down a sheet of paper and you can select your preference on taste and the level of spicy. Choose the hottest one! The seating space is a bit depressing – at the basement and a very small cubical, you really can’t move freely, kind of eating at a prison cell. Keeping that aside, noodle soup had fantastic taste – pork bone thick aromatic broth. Great ramen, one of the best ramen I ever had!!! Not to miss in Tokyo.More

I always love having ramen here. even at midnight, you need to queue up in order to have it. You can choose how spicy you want and how much spring onion and garlics you want. give it a try, if you want to have authentic...ramen! Must try half boiled egg! :)More

The service is really fast and good, the food is delicious, it is definitely a must try and visit. The kids are slurping their noodles and the soup are so rich in flavour. Grown up can add a bit spiciness and vinegar to the soup.

We went for an early dinner but there was still about a 30-40 minute wait. The ramen is good, but there are better places in Tokyo where you may not need to wait in line. Ichiran is a novelty though, you eat in your own...little kiosk and it's kinda fun.More

Given the facility like a prison set up and the taste is a bit better than instant noodle, this place got 3 stars from us.

A one of its kind of experience in tasting this great ramen in cubicle type of sitting setting. Stool is fixed and space can be quite a squeeze for large size person. Oder your choice ramen in special broth from the vending machine. You will...be usher to your seat & filled in your choice of taste preferences on the paper to be handed to server using the Bell on the table. There is a Self serve water from the tap (on the table). When your order is served the wooden rolled down blind will provide your privacy as you savour this delicious ramen. The sitting cubicles is like an inverse U shape where the servers walk through the U passage where diners are sitted along parameter of an U.More

Easy located near Bicqlo at 18.00hrs, we were lucky as there was no queue at all. We used the vending machine and ordered the recommended set with egg, char siu and seaweed each. We were then ushered to the one-seater table and asked to tick...the texture of the ramen, the level of spiciness, with or without garlic etc. Free water was available via dispenser We were served quite swiftly with the staff bringing out a bowl of hot aromatic ramen. I enjoyed this delicious perfect Tonkatsu Ramen.More

Yes but the shop is small and prams may be restricted. Kids should be able to sit in the stalls/booths by themselves as the set up is booth style for one.

I don't think so. I went to their website and it only says the soup is from the pork-based broth. If you are allergic to any dairy products, I highly recommend you to check with them before eating them. It is more safe!
