Ichiran is the most famous ramen house in Tokyo which you can see everywhere in the city. Tried the one at the East of Shinjuku train station in the early afternoon on Saturday. Had to be in queue for about a half an hour which...starts from the street to the basement dining spot. Very popular spot for tourist as two third of customers are tourists. Order at the vending machine - a typical Tokyo style! Toppings cost extra. Once you are done with order at vending machine, you will be handed down a sheet of paper and you can select your preference on taste and the level of spicy. Choose the hottest one! The seating space is a bit depressing – at the basement and a very small cubical, you really can’t move freely, kind of eating at a prison cell. Keeping that aside, noodle soup had fantastic taste – pork bone thick aromatic broth. Great ramen, one of the best ramen I ever had!!! Not to miss in Tokyo.More

I always love having ramen here. even at midnight, you need to queue up in order to have it. You can choose how spicy you want and how much spring onion and garlics you want. give it a try, if you want to have authentic...ramen! Must try half boiled egg! :)More

The service is really fast and good, the food is delicious, it is definitely a must try and visit. The kids are slurping their noodles and the soup are so rich in flavour. Grown up can add a bit spiciness and vinegar to the soup.

We went for an early dinner but there was still about a 30-40 minute wait. The ramen is good, but there are better places in Tokyo where you may not need to wait in line. Ichiran is a novelty though, you eat in your own...little kiosk and it's kinda fun.More

Given the facility like a prison set up and the taste is a bit better than instant noodle, this place got 3 stars from us.

A one of its kind of experience in tasting this great ramen in cubicle type of sitting setting. Stool is fixed and space can be quite a squeeze for large size person. Oder your choice ramen in special broth from the vending machine. You will...be usher to your seat & filled in your choice of taste preferences on the paper to be handed to server using the Bell on the table. There is a Self serve water from the tap (on the table). When your order is served the wooden rolled down blind will provide your privacy as you savour this delicious ramen. The sitting cubicles is like an inverse U shape where the servers walk through the U passage where diners are sitted along parameter of an U.More

Yes but the shop is small and prams may be restricted. Kids should be able to sit in the stalls/booths by themselves as the set up is booth style for one.

I don't think so. I went to their website and it only says the soup is from the pork-based broth. If you are allergic to any dairy products, I highly recommend you to check with them before eating them. It is more safe!
