Please don’t go this restaurant, no menu and price, we just order some vegetable and one fish, but in the end, our bill come out is 65,000 yen and we even never get full at all, I will never ever go this restaurant again.
We found the atmosphere and the food really good. It was a great place to go with a group of friends. But as many other posts mentioned, it is a bit pricey. If you're just out for some cheap eats, this isn't the place. If...you're looking for a fun night out with good food, and willing to spend for it, this place fits the bill.More
As the reviews say, there is no price list for the food or wine. You are encouraged to have this with that at the beginning without telling you prices, for a good reason. If you are happy paying 4,500 yen for an overcooked prawn, and...over 5,000 yen for a skewer of beef then this is your place. Oh and don't forget the 10% service charge on top at the end. Lively atmosphere, plenty of shouting and yelling from the staff across the room to add to the entertainment and you get to watch them cook on what is essentially a hot plate. The food was nothing to write home about and we came out in disbelief feeling we had just been conned. Don't get me wrong, this is obviously i highly regarded restaurant to many which we went to based on a recommendation - just go along with a large fistful of yen!!.More
Well, as others have said it's expensive and difficult to calculate the cost before you get the bill. It is Tokyo ion course, but it's still expensive because you basically point at what you want and the chefs cook it for you. It's easy to...get carried away, so you end up saying something like:
"Oh - give me some of those prawns, some of that asparagus, some sashimi, some grilled fish" etc.... Then the chefs will point at other stuff and of course you will say "Yeah, some of that too!"
Anyway. That over and done with, the food is very good indeed. It's all cooked fresh in front of your eyes and served immediately to your place by the chef with a long paddle. Beer and sake flows well and it's a really enjoyable way to share a meal with a group of friends.
The restaurant itself almost looks like a market with all the food laid out between you and the chefs. Decor is very much Japanese rustic. The chefs (and the rest of the staff) also make fun and games out of serving the food with lots of shouting and cheering as food and drink goes to the customers.
All in all, excellent food and lots of fun. Just be prepared for the bill. Luckily we were on business expenses!More
Our group of 3 had a fantastic time at this restaurant. I read some negative reviews before going and noticed that the negative comments were usually regarding the cost. As long as you go in prepared for that, you’ll have a great night. The food...is outstanding. We particularly liked the beef, asparagus, mushrooms, sweet potatoe...actually all of it! We’d definitely eat here again, and will recommend it to friends. It’s been our favourite dinner in Japan (and they’ve all been great!)More
We never expected to pay ¥30,000 per person, although the experience and food was OK.
The good taste of food got bitter in the end because they never gave us a menu to know what you’re paying for. In fact, their web page says it’s...¥15,000 - 20,000 per person, so you asume you’re gonna get a great diner (since that’s not cheap!).
The real problem is they don’t even have a menu, so you don’t even know what you’re paying for. You just choose from their variety of vegetables and meats, assuming that it’s all part of the set menu (that doesn’t exist).More
We did not eat much but stuffed with a ¥47000 bill.
Nothing to shout about food quality. a lot of showmanship.
They do not breakdown the bill, but just give you the total.
My wife is japanese and she was shocked and promised never to...go back.
Restaurant was not crowded at all and had many staff and unsold food on counter.
STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!More
I have been to Inakaya many times over the last 20 years. The food is always very good. The way they cook and deliver the food is very entertaining. The people each at the "bar" with you are often part of what makes the experience...enjoyable. Warning: it is easy to order a lot of food and have a very large bill. It is helpful to go with someone who speaks the language and can help navigate the fixed price menu.More
Down a little lane, hidden behind a wooded exterior, this is an authentic local restaurant, but we are told that they will move in the near future. For this evening, we were shown into a dining space with 2 main Food cooking presentation arrangements with...a chef presiding over each sector, surrounded by beautiful and fresh food. Each chef has two long wooden paddles with which to serve customers, a long grill cooking strip in front of him and a pot of boiling water, amongst others. For the entire evening, we were treated to warm high energy hospitality, chefs shouting to each other to coordinate their food orders. When the chefs were informed that it was the birthday of one of the customers, they performed a rousing community clap celebration for his birthday!!
The food was fresh and prepared just right, timed to our eating rhythm. We had Kinki fish, ginkgo nuts, beef, etc. We particularly enjoyed the asparagus and prawn, which were very delicious. The bamboo shoot, and matcha ice cream were not to my personal taste liking.More

Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.
