We arrived in Ceglie to find a ghost town - 1pm - hot - deserted. Man in the information office phoned this little restaurant and Giovanni the owner came and found us. Whether he opened just for us or not we don't know - we were the only guests! A lovely little restaurant tucked away in a side street. Like... More

I had a lovely dinner at this restaurant on my visit to Ceglie. It's small and intimate in a beautiful medieval setting and the food is the best kind of traditional cooking from the area. I especially liked the orecchiette pasta and the typical local cheese with a delicate honey flavour. The jug of house red wine on our table was very... More

We arrived in town on a Monday looking for lunch and everything was closed. We asked at the visitors centre and this place was recommended. It's cave-like with stone walls and ceiling and had a lovely ambiance. The waiter told us his mum cooks and his family grows everything nearby. We went with his suggestion of mixed local antipasti and... More

We ran into the owner when we stopped into the visitors center. He seemed friendly and spoke some English, so we gave his restaurant a try after strolling around town. When we arrived, no one was dining but we were warmly greeted. No menu was presented. Rather he asked if we would like a vegetable antipasti and either pasta or... More

When we ate here there was a food festival in the town at which the owners of this restaurant were guest speakers, presenting some of their plates. Unfortunately, this meant that they only had a fixed menu for the night. For €22 each, we received a variety of antipasti, maybe 8 different dishes showcasing their abilities in the kitchen, and for... More

The food is delicious, homemade by the mamma in the back kitchen, using local ingredients and old recipes, a true discovery, nonetheless, no menu, you eat what is on offer and the bill was surprising, above the starred restaurant in town, so ask for the prices first! Pity...

had a wonderful lunch today: home cook speciality that normally is a typical Sunday lunch dish, which I was fortunate enough to get to taste: handmade pasta with slow simmer tomato sauce, crispy grilled vegetables, and a local cheese of the season. Enjoyed the conversations, which made lunch even more pleasant, and rounded everything up with a gelato di fichi... More

We went here as it appeared to spring up from nowhere and haven't seen it before. The restaurant is cosy with plenty of seating (even if we were the only ones there). We shared an antipasti; because we wanted a small one we were only given half of what he said was on offer! The mixed grill was for one... More
