A FABULOUS little Restaurant that will keep you coming back for more and more, GREAT food all the time and the service is OUTSTANDING, Marko (son of the owner and chef) has a Fantastic personality that is totally committed to service and good food, He...realy took his time explaining every little detail of what he was preparing and where the ingredients came from, what a great experience for Us ,made us feel like Family !.....Let me give you some good advice, don't waste your time and Money going to The MUCH over rated " Bella Vista" where you will encounter rudeness and a snobby atmosphere, stick with Marko and you will be guaranteed great food by a young up and coming friendly Chef!....GRAZIE GRAZIE MARKO!!!!More
Although quite difficult to find, Azienda Agricola la Roggia is worth the effort. Service was charming and the food was local, seasonal and excellently prepared. The price was certainly reasonable.
Great experience with wonderful food and a welcoming intimate environment . Very friendly people and a great meal, I highly recommend it.
Guided by our host who offered us to contact Azienda to have the diner, we followed the path through nature to find this nice place. The menu is nice, adapted to season, so fresh with a good value. The owner made an good try in...French, and speaks English too. She's attentive, friendly and runs a charming restaurant/farm/chalet.More
AMAZING restaurant, and our meal was hosted by the charming young son of the owner. As an arrival warning, do not drive your car all the way to the restaurant. Stop and park the car in the downtown village area and then follow google maps...via foot. We drove our car almost back to the house before the gracious host greeted us and had to help us 20 point turn out of the stone path back out to the road. After we were finally inside, we were greeted with a glass of bubbly, and the most welcoming server, who is the son of the owners (the mom is the fabulous cook!). He was absolutely warming, welcoming, and everything exceeded any expectation we had. We started off with a vegetable strudel, but the risotto and duck legs and potatoes were out.of.this.world. I was convinced the potatoes were cooked in the duck fat, but she said only butter. HEAVEN. We were sent off with a jar of her homemade apricot fruit jam - which is more like a delicious puree to spread on toast. La Roggia is not only divine, but also quaint and the most unique environment and certainly best food we have had yet. I will make sure my traveling U.S. friends know of this place, when coming to Como!!More
A "Must" to visit when you're in Veleso! All fresh homemade products from the farm. Very friendly staff. They don't have a menu, but don't be scared to choose their recommodations. It worth it. And you will be surprised is an positive way about your...bill😉More
First of all, you can make reservations on-line through "the fork" website, which is convenient. Finding the restaurant is a bit tricky, as the city will not let them post signs to point you in the right direction. A local was happy to do so...and actually ran up a hill to tell us that we couldn't bring our car any further and to walk the rest of the way, keeping to the right. Which led us to a trail in the woods...yes, a trail in the woods. We questioned if we were going to end up in a scary movie, but alas, it was the right way and it was worth it. The restaurant is surrounded by woods, a babbling brook and gardens. It has a lovely patio/deck that we were able to dine on, even during a thunderstorm. The service/staff was fantastic and friendly. And the food....it was delicious and a welcome change from the restaurants on the lake. They have a limited menu, based on what's available, which I appreciate. We (there were 3 of us) ordered 1.5 of everything to share and were so happy with our decision. When we received the bill, we were shocked at the cost - it's super reasonable. Do yourself a favor and check this place out - it's worth it!More
