We were staying near to here and decided to go in for a meal. Staff were very very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. the soup came and looked nice but when we tasted it we could not get enough it was so nice I even said to my partner i feel like licking the plate.... New owner but needs to be a bit more consistent with the restaurant side of the pub only does meals when they feel like it and ruins the chips by triple cooking them, ruined what otherwise was a good meal. Should have a sign outside stating what nights they do meals.

Nice place with lovely drinks and amazing food. The food standards were exceptional. The chef has cooked everything to perfection. I will totaly visit this place again

laughing stock, im not sure but i think they have changed owners now but when i went back last year about augest we had burnt burgers stale buns, crunchy garlic chucked into a bread roll? they didnt even make it into a paste it was still crunchy it made me gag. flat drinks we complained and didnt have to pay... Opened only a week but already serving food as good as established restaurants, or actually better. I had fish and chips, they admitted the fish was frozen on this occasion not fresh, but the standard was so high it did not matter in the slightest! Called today for lunch I had lasagne which was homemade and tasted lovely, my partner had a burger along with triple cooked chips he said the burger was the best he had tasted, friendly staff and the cross in has been refurbished.

The pub has just re-opened under new management. Went for lunch with friends today and was really impressed. I had Pate which was homemade with a really tasty chutney and my friends had fish & chips and Pie & chips which looked and they said tasted beautiful especially the triple cooked chips!! Just reopened with Ian being the landlord and his nephew the chief lovely meal really busy also booked Sunday lunch looking forward to it very much. Garlic bread to die for yum yum
