Awesome restaurant! Wish we knew about this place long ago...we would have gone every day! Food and service are excellent. We had chicken fajitas. Served chips, salsa, bread and soup first. Wonderful! Our meals were perfect! View of the gardens was beautiful. If you have...not found this hidden gem, you are missing out! After years of going to Cozumel, this restaurant is exactly what we were looking for in Cozumel.More

Casa Mission is a hidden gem in the city of Cozumel. Well off the beaten path of tourists and worth the walk (or drive). Enter through the archways of the retired mission into the exquisite gardens of the current owner. They have opened their home...to the public to share its beauty. A few merchants have handcrafted merchandise for sale within the magnificent courtyard. The restaurant is open-air with beautiful views of the well manicured gardens. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. The drinks were also good, inexpensive and strong. Beware. lol! We plan to visit the tequila factory on the property before we leave. Casa Mission made our brief visit to Cozumel memorable. Walk, take a taxi or rent a scooter. But you must experience Casa Mission before you formulate your opinion of Cozumel.More

Jose was the best! He was one of the three head waiters! Made our experience so perfect and we will definitely be back! The mariachi band sang by our table. The entire experience was better than expected!

I’ve been coming to Cozumel since the 90’s and eaten at Casa Mission many times. This year, I downgraded from 5 to 4 stars. It’s still a great place to go - great food and ambiance. My only reason for the downgrade is it feels...much more “touristy” than before. Not a bad thing per se, but the vibe and service seems to be a little less, for what we are looking for. I’ll still probably come back, but it’s a situation where the popularity detracts a bit from an authentic experience. Their success detracts a bit from the chill vibe I loved before.More

Went to Casa Mission after reading reviews and seeing the menu online. When we arrived they gave us a different menu that was more than twice the price than what we saw online and wanted (chili rellano & soup- see pics). After we ordered I...asked a waiter at an adjacent table to see a menu he just cleared from that table. Totally different from ours (see pics). Discussed with a supervisory person and she said that is the menu for locals- people going to work and the portions were smaller and the presentation was different. Unfortunately, the two tables that got the "local worker" menu across from us were definitely not working class workers- one was a Mexican family and the other was a group of elderly Anglo's- both groups appeared to be relatively wealthy as noted by their clothing and how they communicated. Another "tourist" couple came in a bit later and they were seated far away from us and got the same "tourist" menu. The supervisor switched our order to the local menu when we discussed this with her- the portions were not smaller from what I could tell and the food was good and our new waiter was good. The "local" menu included soup, main course, flavored water & dessert for 179mx. If we would not have discussed this with the supervisor we would have paid $336mx for the relleno alone plus $96mx for the soup (which they did charge us for even though it comes with the local menu- I was not going to argue at that point). We left a large tip for the new waiter because he seemed like an honest man. Too bad that did appear to be the case with setup and website advertising. I hope the management/owner rethinks their strategy- manipulating prices is not unusual (unfortunately) but it does not end well- we all eventually reap what we sow.More

We didn’t have a good experience at casa mission the other night. Unfortunately the service was completely inadequate. Out server seemed completely uninterested in our table. We received salsa with no chips, no plates for our appetizer, no napkins and a complete lack of attention....Also, we ordered a shrimp appetizer that would have been more than adequate for the four of us but the waiter wanted us to order 2 which we did and then had way more than needed. On the positive side, the ground are amazing. The food was average at best for Cozumel. It’s interesting that a waiter can have a huge impact on your experience at a restaurant. Unfortunately in this case it was a big negativeMore

It's always a pleasure to eat at Casa Mission. The grounds are beautiful, the food is very good but mostly because they make your ceasar salad and sexy coffee right at your table.

The food was delicious, including the table side prepared ceaser salad and the house soup that is included with every meal. The smell, of the tortillas cooking wafts constantly from the corner of the dining room and it’s mouthwatering. Visit when you have time to...walk the grounds after your meal…….it is so beautiful.More

Welcome to the Miranda Morales Family home now called Casa Mission Restaurant. Their beautiful home with the large verandas that surround the house have become the dining room for all guests to enjoy their homemade food for the last 45 years. The exotic gardens where...much of the vegetables and herbs are grown have beautiful tables for guests to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is open from 8:00am to midnight. Their signature dish is certainly the coconut shrimp but who could say no to fresh sauteed crab claws as an appetizer. Keeping with their moto of sustainability, they only serve the claws, when available, as once they are cut off and the crab in returned to the water, their claws regrow. The Caesar salad is prepared at the table with freshly pounded garlic, egg, and freshly grated cheese. The fish is delivered daily, and the menu is determined accordingly. They make their restaurant friendly to all that are fortunate to be there. They have menus in braille and for individuals with autism and Asperger syndrome (designed in conjunction with their schools). Their menu encompasses Mexican delicacies, under the careful eye of the matriarch and her children, Mediterranean choices, fresh fish, and seafood. They have recently started bottling their own red and white house wines. Strolling musicians add to the ambiance in the gardens, veranda and inside dining room. The newest addition to their family is La Mission Restaurant, located in the downtown area. It features the same uncompromised menu and is under the watchful eye of the matriarch of the family. These restaurants are a shining example of gourmet food prepared with pride and care as if you were family. Don’t miss the Mexican Coffee for dessert. It is made tableside with fresh coffee, vanilla, three heated liquors and freshly grated chocolate that culminates in a pure delight to your taste buds.More
