Awesome friendly staff. Great food. Prices were very fair. Probably the only negative was the location it was a little hidden.

The food was very delicious, especially the Bolognaise but the portion was quite small so do order a starter. I ordered a starter after my main dish and must say the charcuterie was very nice. Wine also of a very good quality.

We loved this cozy bistro, visited three times while in Taipei. Tasty food, good wine, and nice bar. Staff very attentive and friendly. The owner Bob introduced me to some whiskeys I hadn't tried and made a special cheese and meat platter for my wife....More

This is a small and cosy bistro with a great atmosphere. For our group of six, the owner arranged a seven-course degustation menu with a wine pairing. The highlight was a sous vide tomahawk ribeye steak. It was outstanding. We had a great night.

Description
Merlot Cafe & Bistro is a small but cozy restaurant located in the alley right next to the Gloria Prince Hotel near the corner of Minsheng E. Road and Linsen N. Road. We serve western and Italian cuisine and focus on using fresh ingredients to create "clean" flavors. We offer a nice selection of wine to compliment our food, have cold beers from different parts of the world, and some simple cocktails. Merlot Cafe & Bistro is quite small and can only accommodate 15~20 guests so making a reservation in advance is suggested. We are closed on Mondays. Stop by for a bite to eat and a drink, and chat with Bob in English. Bob is from California but has lived and worked in Taiwan now for 13 years.
