Addiction Aquatic is a most elegant, modern building, housing seafood in cement tanks, a supermarket of fresh and frozen sea foods, meats, fruits, vegetables, cooked foods. This is the ultimate in gourmet markets, exceptionally high end. Adjacent to the building, there is a charcoal grill...outdoor restaurant with many tables, an ice cream, dessert coffee stand, upstairs on 2nd floor a hot pot restaurant. You can purchase your seafood and they will cook it for you to take home. There is a sushi bar you can sit at to be served sushi by the skilled chefs. They have a huge selection of bottled wine in many sections of the market, even chilled, ready to serve. Despite being high end, they accept only cash, not credit cards. It is a such a beautiful building to visit. Most sea foods are from Korea and Japan, emphasizing very fresh sashimi. They encourage you to buy packages of seafood and eat it standing at high tables outside the market . I saw a group of 6 friends share 11 containers of seafood. In a group, this is the ideal way to experience bought foods from this place.More

Must try if you love fresh seafood. The assortment is incredible and the products quality is very high. The price is the normal for these quality. One big negative: you cant pay by card, only in local cash!

My friend and I each had a set menu, which provided a mixture of dishes including finishing with a soup. The dishes were absolutely delicious and were very filling.

If you need a sushi/sashimi fix then this is a good spot. The stand up bar is a nuisance especially if you are having one of the multi-course menu options. There’s a wide variety of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi and some cooked options available...so you could grab a selection and grab a seat on one of the tables outside. Compared to Australia the prices were quite reasonable for the quality and quantity. It’s not Tsukiji though. Lots of live seafood in tanks but that’s about it. You can get to this place via public transport but still require some walking (about 15 mins) from the nearest subway station.More

I visited Addiction Aquatic Development (上引水產) in Taipei on Feb. 22, 2020. I had high expectations for this place. Like many things in life, expectation led to disappointment. The entire operation was confusing. I finally went to their high-end portion, Tresors de la mer (煑海)....In front of the restaurant, there was limited live seafood and non-live seafood selection. I ordered a tray of Japanese sea urchin and its freshness was just average. The sweet shrimps were average. They served the sweet shrimps with shell on and without cleaning. The server had no knowledge of how to cook the heads of the sweet shrimps. I then asked to deep fry the shrimp heads. The other sashimi and its presentation was just average. I ordered a live grouper. They cut up the fish and over steamed it. The lived nine hole abalone was also over cooked. They did not even clean the abalone first. It was struggling to remove them from their shells. The stir fried clams were small and tasted below average. Some of the seatings were uncomfortable. They tried to seat me at a corner table facing a corner wall. I refused then they moved me to a slightly better table. Some of the waitstaffs were nice but not that attentive. They business even had a section in which customers would eat while standing. There was an outside area in which some customers would eat like on the sidewalk. Overall, this was an overrated business. They tried to do too many things in one operation. They tried to cover all kind of customers. Such diversity and lack of focus led to poor quality.More

So fresh, so declicious. Series of restaurants from grilled to raw, and market for takeaway. The sushi/sashimi was fresh and expertly prepared. Service is a little abrupt. Not a place to dawdle.

If you love seafood then this is the place for you. The freshness & quality of the food is amazing It’s a huge seafood market as well as eatery from sushi bar , to grilled/ braised ready to go meals, sashimi cut to order as...well as a huge section of sushi, sashimi ready to go. When you first enter you see huge holding tanks with live crabs , huge scallops and shell fish. You can choose from these tanks and they will cook your catch to order. We had salmon rice , scallop, rice as well as cuttlefish and roast pork, sashimi and a grilled fish and it was amazing and delicious. There is seating outside though it was funny to hear Latin american music being piped through the speakers- it added an upbeat atmosphere who lit we ate. A note- only cash is accepted at this place. To get there take the Orange line to Xingtian temple and it’s about a 15 min walk. The markets nearby are worth a look too as it’s where the locals do all their shopping.Lots of tofu shops, meat and offal hung on hooks, vegetables and fruit stalls. Watch for the multitude of mopeds zooming around. There’s something for everyone , whatever your budget and is definitely a must visit in Taipei if you love seafood.More

The Aquatic Addiction Development (上引水產) is a nice place to have the freshest seafood. I do not know where the seafood source from but Taiwan is surrounded by South China Sea, East China Sea (near Sea of Japan) and Philippines Sea. So i guess the...fish source are always abundance. The time i was there are during COVID-19, so the seafood stock are plenty as the Chinese Tourist crowd has diminished and it is affecting the businesses. However, the service of the staff is still great and many locals still patron the area. I would recommend if you are craving for seafood like fish, crab, lobster and shellfish, please visit them. Great variety of cooking style too; grill, steam, fry and etc. Two thumbs up!More

Fresh top notch quality seafood is here. Its a fish market plus a standing bar. Tuna and salmon sashimi is a must. Or go with set (even the cheapest one is great) Don’t go during lunch or dinner time to avoid the queue. When arrive...go to the staff near the standing tables (you will see) and say you areperson, they will give you the number. Then just wait for your number to show on the digital screen. Take cash, they don’t accept cards.More
