We had been to DingTaiFeng in a couple of its California locations, all are good. But we hear the original DTF in Taipei is the best, so here we are. Visiting Taipei for a week and this is a top must-try. We came around 4:30p...and waited about 10min, not bad at all. Once we got a number we were handed the menu with order sheet so by the time we got seated it was only a few minutes and steaming XLBs arrived at our table. We ordered two steamers of pork XLB, one crab, chili sauce shrimp dumplings, spicy cucumber appetizer, and a couple of desserts. Everything was delicious! The XLB was juicy and tender, yep tasted better than CA's, specifically the pork tasted better. My favorite was the chili sauce shrimp dumplings. dumpling skin was smooth and thin, chili sauce is not overly spicy either, very flavorful. The staff was attentive, waiters and waitresses were constantly checking on our table, removing empty plates, refilling tea, taking additional orders, etc. This location has three floors, general seatings are along narrow hallway, plus private rooms for large parties. Even though space is limited, I find their process and service super efficient without making guests feel rushed. We had a delicious meal and a great experience here. If you're a XLB lover, highly recommended.More

We waited two hours, for a party of four. The staff is nice and the inside is nice, however the food was just ok. We ordered lots of stuff. Veggie and mushroom dumpling, shrimp cake was pretty good. Shrimp fried rice was rated second in...our group. Our friends said that the chicken ones were pretty good and they even put a little chick showing that they are chicken.More

My husband and I stopped here for dinner on our first night in Taipei. It was a busy Friday evening, so we had to wait for a table, but the system for getting people into seats was very efficient. We liked being able to pre-order...our food while we waited, so when we sat down, the order went in and food started to come out. The Xiaolongbao were delicious, as was the cold kao fu and thr vegetable egg fried rice. The mushroom dumplings and mushroom buns were good, but we would have liked more flavor. The staff was very attentive; there was a slight miscommunication about our drink order, but when we brought it to their attention, it was immediately and graciously fixed.More

Taipei 101, tallest building in Taiwan, is a great location for Din Tai Fung, one of Taipei's best-known culinary enterprises. The restaurant and cuisine are traditional Chinese; relatively simple, but consistently high quality. It's an extremely popular brand. It's best known for the delicious shao...lung bao; dumplings full of broth, that are said to have originated in Shanghai.. Service is first class, get there early if you can.More

Din Tai Fung is famous for fine dining, without the expensive price tag. Taipei 101 is the tallest building in Taiwan, and remains one of the tallest buildings in the world. Din Tai Fung's specialty is dumplings, especially the shao lung bao, which originated in...Shanghai. Remember to nibble the casing of the dumpling, then such out the broth. It's very hot, so be careful.More

With many branches all over the world, is Din Tai Fung is really that good? We headed for Taipei to check out their Xiao Long Bao. Din Tai Fung, Taipei 101 branch accepts reservations for tour groups only with everyone on a first come, first...serve basis. Ambience: Outside the restaurant the excitement grows and the large crowds of friends and family gathered. The queue zigzag back and forth in front of the store with a ling wait. We had a short wait of 15 minutes. We were a tour group. Once inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was calmer as diners concentrate on ordering the large variety of dim sum menu. The decor is basically white walls and ceilings with recessed lighting and naturally wood paneling. It represents a professional atmosphere and clean look. Food & Beverage: The tour group has a pre-set menu included (1) Tofu & Seaweed Salad, (2) Sweet & Sour Soup, (3)Spicy Wonton, (4) Xiao Long Bao, (5) Fish Dumpling, (6) Shrimp Dumpling, (7) Vegetable Dumpling, (8) Fried Egg Fried Rice, (9) Chopped Pea Shoots, and (10) Red Bean Dessert Dumpling. Xiao Ling Bao lived up to its reputation. The dumpling skin was delicate and thin with the 18 pinch folds trademark. Delicious soup inside the dumpling and the meat was tasty. The were sufficient dishes for the vegetarian in the crowd. Vegetable Dumpling was excellent and tasty. Since our party was 16 in our tour group, we had several pots of tea as well as boiled water. Service: Once everyone was seated, the procession of the dim sum came out so fast and the lazy Susie serving table was spinning even faster, one blink of an eye and the food passed you by. So the only picture I was able to get was the world famous Xiao Long Bao. The servers would announce the dish aloud. The severs came around frequently to refill the teapots. While the Hong Kong branch of Din Tai Fung was awarded the Michelin star, the Taipei 101 branch had good quality control and standards. So many varieties of dumplings it was like a DUMPLING DEPOT ... at Din Tai Fung (Taipei 101 Branch).More

This is a great place for dumplings! Food tastes great! Service is like no other! Reasonably priced. Get there early for dinner if you are hungry! Suggest around 4:40-5 for the shortest wait time. Once you get past that time, plan on being in queue...for at least 30 minutes depending on how many persons are in your party. Would recommend to try!More

The pork fried rice is to die for. I highly recommend it! Also the waitresses speak multiple languages so you will not have a problem with communication. The only con is that the food is a bit pricey.
