As I didn't see a recent review, I felt it was necessary to relate that this pancake is worth the wait. We loved it so much that we went by a few days later to pick up a couple to eat on the train to...Taipei. The egg, which you should definitely get, is perfectly cooked. The crunch of the pancake lasted for at least an hour. Though good without the spicy sauce, splurge and get one with and one without - for camparison's sake and emperical analysis. By splurge, I'm mean spend 80 NTD for two. That's U.S. $2.62 as of this date.More

I was waiting there for almost 30 minutes to get this simple street food. But it is really very worthy. They work nicely in four small areas as they are dough making & put into hot oil, cooking the dough & egg, put cooked dough...& egg together with sauces, and delivery & money collection. They work together so smoothly and this fried egg with dough has great taste with two sauces. It is very very delicious. More

A different way of eating Scallion Pancake. It is amazing and surprising good! Especially the egg yolk, it is still runny. Reminisce the egg oozing out when I am biting 'em! Ahhh... Just too good!

A hole in the wall establishment that makes only one dish, with the option of having it wrapped around a deep fried, runny egg. Seating is limited to a plastic stool is you're lucky, but right opposite is Lemon Papa, where you can devour your...pancake with one of Papa's delicious drinks. The fig jelly drink is to die for.More

Small stores with a long queue. You need to talk to the seller and order and she will tell you your queue number. Great taste both the skin and the half boiled egg. Others seller usually cooked with sunny egg style.

This was great street food. Fun to watch being made, cheap and extremely tasty. Small queue but very much worth 50NTD. I went back fora second one!

I found it's too oily but taste good. The place has no seat so just take out but it's totally fine. The price is reasonable so good to try local food.

I came here for afternoon snack after a day tour. After reading many reviews, i expected that i would have to wait for a while. However, I found that the cook has tried to serve all the guests as quick as possible. The pancake was...very delicious and tasty with the good price. I found regretful right after i finished that i did not order twice, as there was not enough time to wait for another long queue. If i come back to Hualien, i will definitely try this again.More

I went there in the new year Season. That must be why there are so many ppl. It's very popular on Chinese reviewing website. It tastes good, but not surprisingly good. Maybe it's because we have similar pancake in my hometown.

Go here when you are in Hualien!! It's so cheap, NT$20 without egg or NT$30 with egg! The egg is runny and compliments the crispy savory-ness of the pancake perfectly. Get it with the egg and spicy sauce. Yum yum yum yum! Totally worth the...wait. Highly recommend!More

I had every anticipation that this thing explodes, and I tried to avoid that...but it still did lol. Unique snack, cheap, and yummy. We were here early and there was a small queue going on. Do try this if you were in Hualian!

Would not have found this place if not for driver's suggestion and recommendation. We just completed our visit to Tarako and he said: let me take you to try a snack that called "bombed (fried egg) scallion pancake". We all know what is the regular...scallion pancake that we eat in China or SG. But what a pleasant surprise. We queued and order those with eggs. Its a chinese scallion pancake that is deep fried in a pot of oil until both are fused together. Imagine a sunny side egg and a scallion pancake being over-layed and deep fried until they become one. The egg yolk is till in semi liquid form when we ate it and you have to careful so that it does not spurt out when you bite into it.(not to mention it is also very temperature hot too). I would vote this to be the number one snack item for our food and nature venture trip. Our driver said that this is original vendor. The store is actually operating out of a dis-used mini truck/van.The back of the vehicle has been converted into a cooking and frying area with stoves and pots for frying and preparation. Super unique. Order the one with eggs, of course! Just 50 meters away is another vendor selling the same thing but they started after seeing the business was good.More
