Wow, just...wow. We were so happy to find La Pizzetteria Da Oreste in Proterero! My husband and I picked up two pizzas from there last week, the four cheese was especially divine and no surprise there as the owner is from Rome. Seemingly dropped into this little beach town by parachute, his pizza is the best I've ever had.
We were shocked to find this truly unique gem in Central America. We've enjoyed pizza in New York and Chicago and the La Pizzaetteria's lovely, thin crust is delicious and doesn't take away from the flavors of the sauce or toppings.
Protrero and the surrounding area are so lucky to have these pies, made quickly and with great technique. Apparently their pastas are amazing too.
We'll be back! Thank you!!

We love the covered but open air dining, No problems parking. The best pasta for sure in Playa Potrero. Fiorina brings her mother's recipes straight from Rome and puts so much love in every dish.

This place is amazing! It’s very cute and the atmosphere is cozy. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you’re in the area absolutely stop in! We were recommend here by a local expat and it did not disappoint. The pizza is the best I’ve ever had! My husband and I came here twice while we were in town and we will not be going anywhere else for pizza.

After ordering with the owner, we waited 1,5 hour before another servant finally noticed we had not received our food. It turned out that the owner never put the order on our table, so our pizzas had been sitting in the shop getting cold. Meanwhile the owner himself was getting p*ssed on limoncello with some other guests.
When our pizza's finally arrived after almost 2 hours we asked if we could at least get some discount. We were told they would have offered us a free limoncello, but the boss had drank it all.. So we settled for a "free" sambuca and (p*ss weak) espresso.
This place is a mess, the staff is rude, aggressive and drunk. Please go somewhere else for your pizza.
PS: The pizza's were actually pretty decent

Unfortunately, the service at this place was beyond the worst ever experienced. The restaurant was empty. Still, the water bottle was placed on the table, left closed to be opened by the guests. The beer came in a bottle. The food was best mediocre, thrown on the table without any care: the pasta portion was huge but average, the pizza tasteless. Once done, the chef cleared the table without asking whether it was ok, not offering any deserts or coffee. Instead he preferred to mingle with his friends. We had to ask for the bill multiple times and left the table with the certainly never to come back to this totally unfriendly and uninviting venue. Too bad sine the location is nice.

Ordered 1 Vegetarian (as per the menu without tomato) and 1 national Imperial beer.
Order arrived at the table: 1 Vegetarian with tomato base and 1 Imperial "Light" beer!
To be honest, the pizza was good with light and thin Roman-style dough.
To top it off, the bill was higher than what was written on the menu and the 10% service charge was also applied without having issued a receipt.
This is the behavior that is bad for Italians abroad.

Ordered bruschetta, pizza, salad, pasta. Bruschetta was three slices of pizza crust, one plain, one with pepperoni and cheese, and one with diced tomatoes. No basil, no garlic, no good. Pasta was overcooked. Bolognese had grease floatIng on the plate. Tasted like Chef boy-ardee pure junk. Owner allows smoking in the dining area, and smokes himself. Salad had no dressing, served dry. Pizza had a soggy crust, decent cheese. Hard pass. Waste of money. This would not survive a minute in Italy.

I'm an Italian food lover and have fairly high standards, so when I was able to find a place like this, I was very happy. Food was delicious and nice atmosphere, which for me is important, especially when I go with friends. Highly recommend.

We wanted to go to La Forketta but it was closed on the day we had open. Wanting pizza, we found this place and it was really good. From what we could tell - it was full and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Would return.

Absolute BEST pasta in the area, PERFECT every single time! Florinda is a accomplished and amazing chef. Pizza is really good too! Fabio runs the front of the house, and keeps his guests entertained! Don’t miss this place!

We eat here every time we’re in Potrero. Feels like we’re back in Italy! Pizza is great consistently! ! Service is solid. A glass of chilled red wine is completely Pura Vida! And we love being part of Potrero’s Italian community even just for an hour or so!!

We were all craving for a pizza one rainy night in Costa Rica. We decided to drive to Playa Potrero area and stumbled upon this pizza restaurant. They have a wide selection of pizza and all flavors we ordered are exceptionally good. I ordered the Parma and it didn't disappoint. The owners are super nice.

This is the best pizza we have ever had. It beats NY, Chicago and Italy. Highly recommended!The crust is thin and crisp, cooked perfectly. Great service and the prices are very reasonable.
