We had been recommended to try a Fondu at La Cremaillere and it was excellent. It's not cheap (hence only 4*) but it's definitely worth a visit.

It has taken me two years** to finally get to Le Cremaillere, and it proved to be worth all the intervening hassle. This is a large chalet-style building just downhill from the Lindarets ski-lift nexus and amongst several other restaurants. We arrived as a three-generation family, variously on skis over from Avoriaz and on foot via the Ardent lift, up... More

Our favourite spot in Portes du Soleil. Great atmosphere, brilliant food - plat du skier is a must. Family run business who make you feel special. A must go to place. Love it!

Easy to get to restaurant in the Village de Chevres. The food here is consistently good, the plat du jours good value for money and the portions are huge. Definitely one of the best restaurants up on the slopes.

I am a regular visitor of Avoriaz and this is my favourite place there - Food is very good and menu offers daily specials, the deserts are home-made and amazing (rare enough to be praised!) and the staff are efficient and friendly - I would love them to open something in the resort for the evenings, that quality is nowhere... Went for a late lunch so no problem to feta table. Didn't look at the menu but chose the excellent beef bourginon which came with delicious potatoes and courgettes. Excellent service. Highly recommended

Went again with a bigger group for the later lunch sitting. Chaos in the resto- but that's what you get for booking for the second seating. Not the place's fault that people want to relax over a coffee or few more drinks. But it does mean you wait - so chill. The food was excellent. Plat du jour was again... More

Had a great lunch here yesterday, was completely full but they opened a small annex (summer shop) and while we were worried service might disappear , anything but, they were both very quick and very attentive. Great food and very reasonable, can highly recommend their cafe gourmand.

Always a favourite, we returned today for the first time this year. We were tempted by the plat du jour (boeuf bourguignon) but went instead for the salad gourmands. These were amazing - loads of prawns and shrimp and crisp leaves, with egg, half an avocado, smoked salmon and even tuna (although the latter we thought was an unnecessary addition).... More
