I've been one time only at Chavant restaurant with colleagues and people more experienced than me to French cuisine and more intimate than me to the restaurant. The impression was very good since the beginning. Excellent furniture and ambient. Quiet, clean, with rooms wide enough. Reportedly a great caveau where to taste wine. A great service indeed. A place where... More

we loved some of the dishes but some we disliked quite a bit as, for our taste, they were far too heavy/greasy. Impressive wine card but so were the prices as well. We nevertheless found a good light French red wine for Euro 42. Very cosy and comfortable atmosphere.

We stayed in the hotel and were allowed to park our XKs in the back drive behind security doors, which was a gesture we appreciated. Initially the impression was of a very formal, chilly atmosphere but the staff became more approachable as time passed, although they were always restrained and slightly aloof. The surroundings were attractive and the food carefully... More

This restaurant located in the gardens of a house makes the guest feel at home, and with plenty of luxury and refinement. The place is delightful, beautifully decorated, the food is excellent.

So I have lived in Grenoble for almost 3 years now and have been to many, many restaurants either socially or for business, Chavant is one of only 2 in Grenoble where I go to spend my own money. It is expensive, but it's simply outstanding and a true culinary treat. The food ,'we had the menu degustation, coupled with... More

Description
This charming ivy-covered country manor, located in Bresson – only minutes away from Grenoble, is definitely a top dining destination for all serious francophilic foodies. Awarded four Michelin forks and voted as one of the best gourmet restaurants in the county, Chavant opened as a restaurant in 1852, and the dining room – with its open fireplace, fresh flowers and wood-panelled walls – reflects the classic menu which features regional dishes and fresh seafood. Run by Daniele and Jean-Pierre Chavant, the kitchen is renowned for its signature dishes such as lobster served in a creamy truffle sauce; the venison baked with apples, potatoes and turnips in a daube sauce. Chavant's wine list was designed by famed sommelier Jean-Charles Pourzeratte.
