This restaurant is off the beaten path, with a nice view of the hills above Salir. Service was friendly and unhurried. Prices have increased since our last visit a couple of years ago, and the menu is devoted to tapas, which are good.

We just dropped by by coincidence. It was a blessing. Very nice relaxed spot - in the center of Salir, next to the church.
Host is very friendly and food good.
Price-quality top!
If you pass Salir, make sure you stop!

Great tapas menu, varied & interesting, beautifully cooked, efficient and friendly service, great setting. Excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommended. Salir is set in some beautiful countryside just North of Loulé, take the scenic route to get there!

I stayed 30 days with my wife at Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha. This was our fifth one months’ longstay for golf in the Algarve. We decided to explore the mountainous area around Alte and Salir for the first time. Based on the excellent reviews in TripAdvisor we had a plan to have lunch in Janela da Serra restaurant located next to the Main Church of Salir. We were lucky enough to find it open in the beginning of February.
I ordered African curry fish (monkfish) while my wife had Lamb chops. Both dishes were extremely tasty and delicious. The prices are very good value, probably the best we had in the Algarve (7 € for monkfish, 6,50 for lamb). The staff is friendly, relaxed and attentive. They speak perfect English. The colorful decor of the restaurant is very enjoyable.
Janela da Serra is really worth a visit. A real gem in the countryside far from the biggest cities in the Algarve. Highly recommended!

We called in for lunch on a sunny November day. It was nice enough to sit outside. The place was very busy but the service was great. The tapas was really nice, especially the pig's cheek! The owner was very friendly & chatty (speaks great English) Salir is on top of a hill so the views from inside over the surrounding countryside are wonderful.

The two of us had a Sunday evening meal there. The restaurant is in a great location with super views. However it was very quiet that night.
The choice of food was very good and we shared the carrot starter followed by fish & chips, pigs cheek, chops and tomato salad. Really liked the f&c and pigs cheek. The food was reasonably priced.
The staff were very helpful and attentive.
Can highly recommend.

Finally went for lunch after visiting several times for drinks. A beautiful location high up by the church mind the bells 😂⛪We tried three types of Tapas my favourite being the Mamas recipe Cape Verde curry served with rice. Monica is a great English speaking co owner. Would recommend an early visit for the nice food, friendly atmosphere and stunning location 👌😋🇵🇹
