Great ambience , food great but not a lot for kids as a little spicy! Wouldn’t recommend for small children

Having been here before, we were really looking forward to having dinner here again. But oh my what a disappointment it was. The waiter asked us if we liked spicy or not. So it was spicy for me and mild for my gf. Starters(softshell, giant...blue river prawn). Softshell portion size was haute cuisine unfortunately that was the only thing haute cuisine about it. The prawn was average to good. For the mains we had the yellow fin tuna and ayam pedas. Again the waiter asked if I wanted it spicy and I told him ofcourse as it is ayam pedas(will get back to this shortly) In the meantime the guy sitting right behind me started video calling and at was loud music from the other end at first. We noticed other people sitting further away also disturbed by this. The mains arrived and the ayam pedas was not pedas at all. It tasted very bland, my first thought was chicken nuggets. I let my gf taste and that was exactly her first thought as well. I complained to the waiter and he explained yes this is because of our western customers. Who are you trying to fool with an excuse like that as he asked about the spiciness twice. His solution was to give me some sambal. Pretty awful solution if you ask me. In the meantime there was still this ongoing video call and it was destroying the nice atmosphere(it's a really nice and tranquil place) this restaurant has. We complained to the staff and the told us the would do something about it. But the didn't. Which was my que to leave. Money not well spent but worse a precious evening on Bali ruined.More
Bambu Bali is a must visit, do not hesitate dining here! We loved it so much, the ambiance, service and food were impeccable!
Beautifully built and decorated, a pleasure to the eyes from.the moment one enters the restaurant, walking over the clear pond that crosses the entrance and surrounds the tables. Lights and colors harmonically combined. Typical scent of oriental herbs in the air. Lounge music with jazzy...style makes the place relaxed and stilish. The menu gives you the Indonesian names of the dishes with their island of origin (Bali, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra...) and describes the dishes in English. Food is presented in its traditional shapes: wrapped in banana leaves, oven roasted in a bamboo cane, or whatever form it should have. Flavors well combined and balanced with a level of spiciness as requested by the customer. Food contact with the palate is always soft and pleasant, as texture and temperature of the dishes are prepared to perfection. A great dinner supported by an excellent, very attentive service all the way through. Looking forward to the next opportunity to dine in Bambu Bali.More
We recently visited Bambu during our stay in Seminyak and we’re very impressed with our night. The layout of the restaurant is none like I’ve ever seen before. As you walk in on stepping stones it is surrounded by a pond with fishes in it....There are tables downstairs and also upstairs. We were welcomed by every staff member we saw and received really great service! The food was some of the best we’ve had in Bali and we were left very impressed with everything we ate! Personal favourites were the sliced duck and the soft shell crab! This restaurant is definitely a must go if you’re staying in the area! Thanks for having us :)More
Wowee what a find, this is a beautiful restaurant with exquisite ambience, drinks and food to compliment a romantic evening. As you are greeted by such professional and warm welcome you are invited into a tranquil and zen space a world away from the busy...Seminyak streets. You step around the corner walking along a stepping stones over a beautiful laid out pool to a lovely and romantically lit areas. 4 different spaces to wine and dine all areas suitable to stay the entire evening. A bar to the right, a space in the centre under a traditional Indonesian roof where it is surrounded by the pool all around making this a special and unique dinning area. To the back a beautifully lit back wall overlooking the centre space and upstairs in an L shaped design to view over the pool and Indonesian roof space. Candles at every turn making this feel like a big warm hug. We were sitted upstairs and had a wonderful view of stepping stones and pool areas. The staff all attentive and professional. The lychee cooler and other drinks divine and well presented, the menu Indonesian tapas and larger plates too, the food is taken to another level. We ordered 5 dishes each would fit onto a small plate and shared each one. The food was delicious and the prawn dishes absolutely the highlight the broth and sauce so clean, clear and so much flavour, the design so much thought and imagination just amazing. The cocktails and beers kept flowing the staff maintained their attention on customers throughout and to top it all off we had the incredible pancakes and coconut icecream absolutely divine. Thank you what has been a delicious 50th Birthday week for my husband and certainly we will return soon.More
I tried to make a group booking for 10 adults + 2kids to celebrate birthday on 08th sep. I contacted the reservation team on 04th Sep. I asked for a set menu understanding that group booking is more likely to be offered a set menu....Then the reservation team told me that the table would not be fit for morethan 10 people and they have to discusss it and get back to me the following afternoon. I waited on 05th and did not get any information, so I texted them at 3pm no replied. I texted them again at 6 and the team replied that they will get back to me the following day. It was insane, how making a booking could be so difficult and stressful. And the evening team told that booking morethan 10 people must oder a set manu and paid deposit in advance. This what exactly what I asked whch is a set menu and I am happy to pay. After getting to upset with the whole experience, still the team ask me to check with the reservation team. Never in my life I experience this kind of service. They simple do not want customers and in fact there is no manager on duty that can make decision on that day. So I assume if there is an issue during service, good luck you may just gonna need to suck it up.More
One of our favourite restaurants to visit when in Bali. Beautiful restaurant, offering excellent food and drinks selection. A must visit when visiting Seminyak.
Delicious food in a beautiful location. Service was faultless as well. Attention to detail is excellent
Extremely recommended. Both food and location are great Big variety of Indonesian dishes, allowes to choose mild, medium or spicy
Wonderful place, the best of Bali. The menu offers a huge selection of dishes from all Indonesia. Bambu is more than famous, as the food and the service are absolutly stunning. It is like a dream to have a meal here. The building is a...traditional balinese house with many waterpieces. Incredible. Best value for money ever. Really a must to do.More
Had a table booked for 8:15 but didn’t sit down until 8:45, made to feel very welcome, found us a place to sit whilst we waited. It’s a busy restaurant for a reason, the food was worth the wait. Amazing! Ambience one of the best...in Seminyak!More
This place is a must place to visit on a trip to Bali. Ambience and food are spectacular, service is impeccable. Suggest you book as it is very popular, but worth it. This was my second time eating here and it’s good to see that...it bounced back after COVID and just as impressive.More
Wonderful food, wonderful staff, wonderful ambience. A favourite I have visited a few times. Good for smaller and larger groups. Whilst at the higher end re price, I think really good value.
Foods were very overrated. Prices were to expensive for what they offered. Nice condition tho, looks very Indonesian style of decoration. Unfortunately the staff were too loud when they talked behind us, making it a bit noisy.
