Disappointed after the glowing reviews. The food was satisfactory but nothing special. The restaurant was very French and immaculate, the staff were delightful and the wine was good.

Restaurant with very few options, most of them meat. Food was very normal with nothing to highlight. I came here for the good reviews but I was disappointed.

We ate here yesterday evening and couldn't fault it in anyway. We shared the salmon starter which was delicious, Steve had their famous rabbit and said it was excellent, the chef even debones it. I had a very tasty faux filllet d'aubrac which was also...delicious. We didn t have room for dessert. What made the evening perfect was the service, our waiter was attentive but not to much, very professional and you could tell he loved his job. The other waiter seemed from a distance to be equally nice. Next time in Carcassonne we'll be eating there again certainly.More

Lovely bistro - was reasonably priced and the food was excellent. Service was really good and the diner was spotless. Staff were polite. The menu had a wide choice.

This lovely restaurant is exactly what you could want from a superb French Bistro. Although they were busy we were given a very good table and we were well looked after. The food was delicious, as was the wine. All this at a very acceptable...price. We are going again tonight!More

After we had been seated we were asked to move to the empty other side of the restaurant...in front of the kitchen. Momentarily debated leaving...felt insulted...the only Americans in the place. Glad we stayed...food was excellent...and the French couple (obviously regulars) seated next to us...were friendly and spoke to us.More

Very well regarded restaurant in town, and recommended by a couple folks. We managed an early seating at a decent table, and the ambiance was quite nice (and quiet, on a side street from the square). Service was competent if perfunctory but multilingual. Tables close...to each other meant that the guy who fell asleep in his chair while his wife smoked for 30 minutes outside detracted from the moment. Clearly locals relish this place. I thought the wine list was very solid if a bit overpriced. the grilled rabbit failed to deliver the tender and moist treat I was hoping for. it wasn't bad, but a somewhat weak preparation. So, I think I would want to give this place another try and go for something on the specials list--the seafood looked good. And the atmosphere with locals was a real asset.More

Excellent, professional and friendly service. The restaurant was almost fully booked, so we sat at the bar and enjoyed the theatre of the kitchen. We loved the food and ambience of the restaurant. This is just what one would expect of a french bistro and...more actually!More

I love its cosy ambience and it’s traditional French bistro styling (marble table tops and red and white check placemats). The waiters are always very welcoming and friendly and very good at recommending wines to match both the food and customers’ personal tastes. An added...bonus is that they also speak impressively good English and are always happy to do so! The most important thing though is the food - and it’s reliably very good and good value for money. I love the steak, but today I enjoyed a super poulet frites (roast chicken and chips), with a lovely sauce/gravy on the side, together with a generous green salad (all for €13.50. I will come back again and again. In fact, I’ve booked for Friday! Perfect!More

A lovely meal on our first night in Carcassonne. A great bottle of Chardonnay accompanied the ham and cheese sharing platter. For the main we both had the cassoulet, which was fantastic. We go to Carcassonne quite often, but for some reason had never tried this attractive looking bistrot opened some 3 years ago; a mistake! The decoration is a modern take on a traditional looking bistrot, with an open kitchen around which is a bar area....The menu is relatively limited in choice, but this is no doubt a deliberate and understandable decision in order to successfully guarantee the quality of the dishes. We had a delicious starter of cèpes and échalotes, followed by an excellent breast of duck ( “rose», or pink, turned out to be too rare for us , but we sent it back and it returned perfect for our taste) and a tasty and well prepared and presented scallops. Dessert was a delicious home made honey flavored ice cream. Service was pleasant and efficient. Count on spending 30-35 per head, excluding wine. Well worth it. Make sure you have some French fries: home made and up there with the best! And finally, make sure you book, it was full and we only got a table as we were there at opening time of 7.30pm.More

A great experience in terms of services and French dishes. We had 2 starters (rabbit confit and some grilled vegetables) and house specialty (rabbit with French fries and a special sauce), a steak (waiter was very kind and explained us French color coding for European...understanding of how cooked a beef steak should be). Wine list had excellent options for all taste. Location is down town Carcassonne with a typical French bistro design. I think price range is a plus for this place (76 euro for 2 pax: 2 starters, 2 main, 1 dessert and 1 big still water).More
