A very pleasant ”let’s check this place out” Japanese restaurant. We had Sashimi, Sushi, Rolls and Udon noodles and it was all great. Nice and friendly service, and we asked to share all so they kept the food coming in a very good paste. Strongly...recommended!More

After three weeks of Vietnamese food - which we truely love! - we wanted another cuisine for one night, so we went to our hotel’s restaurant. It had very good, clean, pure and fresh Japanese food. We liked it a lot. The staff was very...kind, they treated us like a king and queen and gave us an optimal honeymoon feeling!More

Came here with my partner and were quite surprised at how great everything was. This restaurant lives up to Japanese standards. As you walk in its beautifully decorated with a Japanese theme, the service was up with the best we experienced in Vietnam and the...food was clean, creative and very tasty. For the high standard, it's reasonably priced.More

Dang!! I honestly wasn't expecting much seeing as this restaurant is in a hotel. Its a 4 star hotel so that should have clued me in to what was to come. Anyways, I walk up the steps and I am amazed at how put together...this restaurant is, it looked absolutely fantastic. The lighting was impeccable! Then we got sat down and we got our food, it was some really good food. Do whatever you can to try the peanut sauce they have. It was the best peanut sauce I have ever had. No peanut sauce in the USA that I have had has come close to the flavor that this had. I think it came with like a weird seaweed looking thing. Anyways I also had the seafood soup and that was really good! The Sashimi was thick, and they gave you dry seaweed to wrap it in. I'm not a huge can of sockeye but to each their own. Overall one of the best dining experiences I have had in Vietnam and ive been here for 2 months. Highly recommend! Peanut Sauce for Life! Also the Dessert was incredible. Here are some pictures. I didnt get as many pictures as I wanted cause I got distracted by the taste of the foodMore

I ate there twice in the last couple of weeks, and both times it was the service that let the place down. It started with the bellboy (the restaurant is inside the Royal Lotus Hotel) who told me the restaurant is on the 4th floor...(it is on the second floor). The trend continued with very disinterested staff who seemed surprised and rather put off when I showed up at 13:30; the restaurant is supposed to be open until 14:00. Actually, some other guests were turned away today when they turned up a few minutes after me; this in a restaurant that was completely empty both times I was there. The staff do not stop giving one the impression to be totally inconvenienced by guests and do not even manage the basics such as pouring soya sauce or opening my bottle of water. Both times I also had to actively seek out staff to pay my bill. On a positive note the food is actually pretty good, in particular for Ha Long standards where there is not much choice. Both the Sushi and Sashimi were fresh and tasty, I also had the Chef's Teriyaki which was also good. Bottom line: I would not eat here if the restaurant was in say Ha Noi where there are better options, but would come back here if I was in Ha Long and just bear the mediocre service. Prices are very reasonable for a Japanese restaurant.More

This restaurant is on the second floor of the Royal Lotus Hotel Halong. We dined here on our first night in Halong Bay. We ordered the Grilled Rib-eye Steak and the Grilled Lamb Chops. The Lamb was very juicy in spite of us ordering it...well done (which it also was), but it and the accompanying fries were under spiced. The Rib-eye was excellent, and came with a very tasty fried mix of bean sprouts and garlic. The Rib-eye steak was grilled on display grills in the restaurant, which was entertaining, and the staff was very attentive. Still, the language barrier caused the Lamb to be served without salad (it was requested without dressing). Even though we had the waiter confirm the order correctly, there was apparently some confusion. The waiter never caught our order for still water, but we didn't complain, since the fresh juice we ordered was an excellent substitution.More
