Set in the beautiful Lune Valley, The Fenwick Arms reopened its doors in June 2013 and has never looked back, bringing with it the Seafood Pub Company's renowned gastro pub style with the highest in quality food from sea & land. Fish specialists & extremely proud & now offering 9 en-suite beautiful bedrooms!
First visit was good ...our second visit was not ...food over cooked and a multitude of flies in the area where we were eating ..other tables complained too ..real shame as the Fenwick has a lovely ambience...
Absolutely wonderful meal - booked as a gift, staff lovely and friendly - food awesome - cheese pie OMG!! Oysters, smoked salmon, Truffles, cheesecake, Baileys hot chocolate and an Irish coffee, lovely selection of wine - the place you could easily drive past but inside...is a little gem - definitely will be back - definitely not one to be missed!!!More
Really nice food, spoilt by sullen faces of the staff. Blonde lady that served us looked down her nose when we misunderstood something, red trousers never smiled, long brown haired girl didn't smile, converse or ask us how our food had been when we asked...for the bill. When we left no-one said goodbye, or thank you or even looked our way. The whole restaurant felt low in mood, and we were really excited to be out after being in lockdown for 18 months. The staff totally spoilt our evening, we wouldn't recommend this place based on the fact customer service, human contact and a smile is often more important than good food. Although the food was really good. It was a shame.More
Having booked this hotel under booking reference 1629556997 on 22 August 2021. Unfortunately due to a close family bereavement I was forced to change my booking to 2 September I have email confirmation that the change had been made.
On arrival at The Fenwick on...Thursday 2 September they had no room booking for me only a table!
Desperate for a leisurely break and looking forward to a nice meal the “Manager” suddenly remembered a guest had booked out early so a room could be available but would need to be ‘made up’.
Having experienced a similar situation in the past at another hotel I ended up in a broom cupboard, this time I guessed it would be the managers own room as he claimed to live in Blackpool.
I declined the offer and drove home exhausted being my first distance outing since heart surgery!
Shocking obviously the staff or even manager screwed up big time with my room booking.
Couldn’t recommend anyone trust this cowboy outfitMore
Nice greeting and service overall was good up until we complained. Chips were inedible as they were caked in sea salt. Toasted brioche was not toasted - soggy and floppy. Fillet steak was tough. Side of vegetables were soaked in salt and pepper to the...extent they made our eyes water and we couldn't eat them. Several items from the menu not available. Even peas, which are pretty straight forward, were overpowered by red onion. When I complained, the manager knocked £9.65 off a £160 bill. Given the poor quality of the food I found this insulting. 2 stars only because the service was quite good apart from the way the manager handled it.More
Attended today with a friend for lunch. Dealt with and sat down straight away. Drinks arrived and food not too long afterwards. The food was brilliant I had a chicken wrap with fries and my friend had the haddock in a sauce with fries which was...also excellent. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.More
Sat evening treat. Had 3 courses each and all very good. Lovely traditional setting with lots of small snug rooms in tartan and wood. Fish specials, excellent. Burger was lovely. All tasted home made and Hannah B's service was perfect, explained the specials well, unobtrusive...and helped us have a great night out.More
