We stopped by for a late lunch on the way back to Christchurch from the ski fields. I place isn't too hard to find since it is on the main highway, just keep an eye out for all the parked cars in the area. There...is quite a bit of street parking on both sides. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we opted to eat in. They have so many flavours in their pie rack that it was quite hard choosing just one. In hindsight, I probably could have gone for two but I was also interested in trying out their sweet treats in the cabinet beside the pies. I tried both the venison pie as well as the Sheffield supreme and I definitely preferred the supreme. The bacon and onion with the beefy gravy was divine. The cheesecake was ok, as were the shakes. The fruit pie, peach and passionfruit, was surprisingly tasty since the passionfruit flavour wasn't overwhelming. It was definitely a great pit stop since the pies were really tasty. The only sad part was that we had to leave the snow early since they do close at 1600 but it was kinda worth it.More

After hearing all the hype, we finally got to visit the store in Sheffield. I am disappointed to write that the Donut I had would not entice me to a return visit. Never have I had a Donut that is tough and chewy, till now...that is! Maybe their pies win awards but their Donuts don’t.More

We have watched this amazing business grow and flourish over the last decade. The pies are ALWAYS amazing. We are regulars mainly over the winter months as we head to or fro skiing. We all have our favourite flavour - mince, peppered steak, venison and...herb and of course the sweet pies - apple, passionfruit, apricot, berry etc. Not to mention the huge amount of other yummy food available. My daughter loves the lolly cake! They also have low-gluten pies available to buy cold, take home and heat up. Good parking on the roadside and round the back. Clean toilets too!More

Yes it is a small shop and does often have a queue... however the food is fantastic - highly recommend steak and cheese/ cottage/ peppered steak pies in particular. Scones and custard strudel also very good. freezer sometimes has mixed bags of 2nd's etc at...reduced prices. One gripe - we have driven out from chch several times over the last few months to buy for ourselves and several others/including workplace shouts and it was only just on our last visit that we were told about their reward purchase card....disappointing as would have been nice to know this earlier on past large orders and help offset cost of getting there and back!More

We went here on our road trip through to Lake Coleridge from Lake Lyndon. It's always a 2 pie minimum when we go here and this time was no different. We each got a NY Pepper Steak and a Sheffirld Supreme and they did not...disappoint, so tasty. Only added too by the lovely scenery at the rest area where we stopped :) Now my husband wants me to get him a bulk pie pack for the freezer. Guess there's another roadie in the future!More

Best pies ever and great service I always email my order through and it is ready next day for pick up. Coffee is pretty good too. Does not matter what time you go there is always a question

Kids had mince and cheese which they loved. I had the venison whiskey one which was really good. Beautiful flaky pastry. Prices are OK, the sweet cabinet food looked good too.

Not as good as it used to be. I do like the pastry. We were very late in afo so not surprising that it was very limited choice. Coffee was ok. Staff friendly.
