Called in here lunchtime after a drizzly walk to Polperro and back. Originally wanted to try crab sandwiches but the didn't have any crab. Settled for ham salad and prawn baguettes. Very nice and freshly made. Good quality ham. Had a cake afterwards. Very clean...inside and nice staff.More

Helped out with use of the landline when I needed to arrange an emergency pick up for a walker beyond his limits. Could not have been kinder. I've also previously stopped and used the café as a café!

Sadly we have been to Talland bay many times and it holds great memories of when my Mum was still with us and when we came as a family. Our hallway at home has many photos of us all here throughout the years and it’s...always been our go to place. While on holiday here very recently we had brought a lovely cream tea and was served by a lovely lady. We chatted to her outside and all was well. Overall as a family we had spent over £50 here in one day, and with our friends combined around £100 altogether, so when it came to asking for some tap water for our dogs we were shocked and disgusted by the staffs response. Kindly they had filled up our bottle twice. Both times however they were very rude about it to our daughter and my husband, and told us to use the water bowl which was outside then refused any more water for us. We had explained that our dogs were getting over pneumonia and we didn’t want to use a shared dog bowl. Bearing in mind it was a hot day. We were camping nearby in a tent and the coolest place for our dogs was near the water that day. We noted that there was another person also asking for water for their dog and they were incredibly rude to them to. Never have we been refused tap water for our dogs when we had run out of it. What kind of a person or business refuses water? I think our £100 more then covered it. Prices were incredibly steep and sadly our memories of this place have been massively tainted. I’m sure I will receive a rude response to this review as my daughter has received one already from the owner of the cafe implying we should have kept our dogs indoors that day due to the weather, and had said they showed concern for our dogs welfare after our daughter had explained about their recent dip in health. Omg!!!!! That was a shock to read. Couldn’t have been further from the truth! Our dogs are VERY well cared for and we put their needs first before any human! I can see a pattern here with complaints and comebacks from the owner. Never have I felt so compelled to write a honest and FACTUAL review. Moral of the complaint is, if you bring your dogs here be sure to bring ALOT of your own water as the owners will either A( Refuse to refill Or B) Be very insulting and rude and make you beg for it. My mum would be absolutely livid. Such a shame. 👎🏻More

We walked from Polperro toTalland Bay twice during our recent holiday to Polperro. Loved this beach cafe, especially the beach huts you can sit in . The only reason this didn’t get excellent was the toilet situation…. There is a toilet block just up the...hill which unfortunately were out of order - there were portaloos available but no one likes a portaloo!!More

What a lovely find this was. We were grateful to easily find a parking space for a few hours at the beach (summer holidays). Excellent outdoor set up with benches with view of the sea. I’ve been have a cream tea most days on our...holiday and this was the perfect scone consistency combined with friendly service and love the general set up.More

Arrived here after long walk, after some refreshment. Had 2 cans and 1 coffee, cans £2 each and coffee nearly £4!!!!! Later asked to refill our sons drinks bottle with tap water for walk back, told have to buy plastic bottled water, which my husband...did for my 13 yr old son, absolute disgrace!!!!! Never ever been refused to refill own bottles with tap water. Never will we use this place again! People want to cut back on plastic by bringing reuseables and you defeat the object.More

Great Hotel / Bar /Restaurant with sea views and lovely walks. Staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Food quality was high and portion sizes generous. With reasonable prices, seating inside and out plus plenty of parking on site, what’s not to love. We will...definitely be back.More
