Well this hotel is always busy so thought it a safe bet when we had the chance of eating there with some discounted vouchers from "living social" We booked our table by phone at 08:30 on the morning of our visit at 8pm the same evening. On arrival we were told that they had no details of our booking (very... More

See my hotel review - says it all Slow service, inattentive staff in an empty restaurant Guy on the grill completely ignored everyone and spent more time cleaning up than directing staff to serve customers

On the basis that anyone can have an off day, I decided to give this place another go. Big mistake. Call me wacky, but I think bourbon ribs should taste of bourbon. The good folk at the Victory, however, think they should taste of ginger. If Michelin gave out awards for mediocrity, this place would merit 5 stars.

Went for the carvery last Sunday. Service is absolutely shocking! Staff spent most of the time huddled around the desk instead of attending to their guests. Plates were not cleared throughout our stay! Was very unpleasant sitting eating a course with previous plates in front of us. A couple next to us had to go to the desk and ask... More

We booked a table and on arrival was told that there was limited service as the chef had been busy with a carvery. The menu was cheaper due to being limited that was good, but that was all that was good. We ordered and got our wine straight away but waited and waited for our meal. While we waited we... More

Visited the Hotel on Sunday 10th July. Me and my partner just wanted some pub food so decided to dine in the Victory Bar. We ordered our food (chicken tenders, margarita flatbread with added ham and a BBQ burger) and sat down. Shortly after, one of the bar persons come over to advise there were no chicken tenders left (which... More

I had a burger in a brioche bun. The patty was overcooked and consequently dry. The burger was served on a bit of wood and the fries came in a metal cup. If that was meant to impress me, it failed by a country mile. Perhaps somebody should concentrate more on getting the food right and leave the pretentious arty-farty... More

We stayed recently at Village Hotel, of which this pub is part. Doesn't feel like a hotel pub, more like a village pub, but then that is the point of the whole village concept. Drinks were readonably priced as was the bar food. Good choice and very large portions. Couldn't fault it at all.

The restaurant is a nice setting and the staff cant do enough for you. Its a chain so you have a fair idea of what you are going to get if you have been before. If the weather is nice you can even sit outside right under the manchester airport flight path as the aeroplanes scream overhead every single minute.
