Our host at the b&b made reservations for dinner. the road to the masseria was scenic. the fields and gardens so green. we were greeted cordialy and shown around. everything was well explained. unbelivable to dine in a place that is in parts 1000 years old.

Beautiful restored Masseria in the heart of the Salento region of Puglia. Stunning building and grounds oozing history. Hand made pasta dishes plus delicious (10 types) antipasti and other seasonal dishes. Ambience excellent, wine plentiful and okay food for only €30 each. Great value and recommended mainly for the situation rather than the gourmet experience.

This is astonishing, wonderful, undiscovered by gastro tourists but should be in the world's best 50 restaurants…all the food is grown around the farm, all the cheeses made in house, even the wines are local grown…and served by the jug left on the table, lunch in the garden would be fabulous, otherwise the old masserie is set up like a... If you like dining in rooms that date back to the 11th century on authentic, rustic local dishes made from ingredients grown onsite, don't miss this place. Every dish was wonderful. I was full after the appetizers but there were still three more courses to go! And the bucolic setting is equally magnificent. If you go for lunch, you can... More

We really enjoyed dining at this well renovated masseria, which is gifted by beautiful surroundings and spacious and impressive medieval interiors. The food is made from simple local ingredients, and is true to its territory. Portions are very generous and the meal is composed by a great variety of dishes. A place not to be missed by anyone looking for... More

We stopped at Le Stanzie for lunch during our one week cookout at the Palazzio in Spongano. I enjoyed the starter-taster of the black-eyed pea soup and all the delicious antipasti. The place is fantastic with the winter tomatoes hanging everywhere to dry as a backdrop. The service was also excellent and the staff moved out our tables in the... More

We had the loveliest experience when we dined here recently. We entered via the kitchen door (somehow!) but were warmly greeted by the Nonna who keenly served us a small bowl each of black beans that she had been cooking on the wood-fired stove. We gleefully ate this while watching her make pasta. A delightful experience. We were then shown... More

We made reservations for a party of 20 based on recommendations from a local friend. For 29€ per person, we were served a traditional salentine feast with antipasto, cheeses, fruit, primo, secondo, dessert (so much food we could not eat it all) and LOTS of delicious local wine. The food was tasty, local, fresh, cooked traditionally and certainly with love.... More

Seriously I don't remember ever having had such great local food down here in Salento. If you care about the ingredients being super fresh, and organic this is the place for you as it's all produced on the farm - the meat too. The food is simply delicious and very reasonably priced. The masseria is stunningly beautiful and you are... More
