Booked a table for Christmas day lunch and were pleasantly surprised by a vegan menu with multiple options after we mentioned a vegan was coming over the phone. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very friendly, not to mention the delicious and varied food. Many thanks for the extra effort from a happy vegan! (The meat eaters were... More

Well cooked, freshly prepared food. I doubt there is a microwave here! Very extensive menu offering something for everyone. Food portions are very generous and very good hearty fare. Nice ales on the bar, which are kept well and varied with season This is an old pub with genuine character. I prefer the bar area to the Resturant as it... More

What a little gem! A good old fashioned English village pub that has clearly decided not to go down the 'fashionable' pushed up pub route. Excellent staff, great pub menu, great value and tasty food. Why would you not get here? Because you either don't know about it or it's too far away. Other than that go and enjoy.

I've now eaten here twice in three weeks and on both occasions it's been fantastic!! The locally sourced food is really good and to see proper in season meats on the menu is how it should be, but even more the chief knows how to cook them and present them really well! The flavours and style of cooking are perfect... More

The epitome of a country pub in the lead up to xmas with a roaring fire, decorations and warm, cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful and worked very hard. The menu was extensive and food cooked to a good standard. I would visit again!

I stayed at the lovely Blaisdon House B&B (see separate review), and was directed here to eat, which I am glad I did, as the food, hospitality, and atmosphere was excellent. This is a traditional village pub, and is very welcoming. There is something on the menu for everyone, wether you are wanting a snack, or an evening dinner, the quality... More

I must start by saying, when we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff. There was 7 of us for food, the order was taken at the bar, and was then taken to our table. The waitress were great and very helpful. Food was fabulous, but I must say "not cheep" but you don't mind paying if it's good.... More

Really nice to find a truly original village pub with its mixture of locals and visitors. Beer is all local and very good, and food is excelent with well presented modern dishes cooked with traditional quality. Good service from friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Thoroughly recomended.

I cannot fault this place. The food was absolutely fantastic... I have a wheat intolerance and this was absolutely no bother to the chef who made sure that my food was completely gluten free. We dined out two nights on the run and all I can say is that we thoroughly enjoyed all our meals. Definitely worth a visit !!

Thank Rachel B
