Recommended by our host and highly rated, we had dinner at Silistria and left unimpressed. Read on for details.
Located on a boat sitting in the water, the restaurant has its own unique decor. On the school night, we sat inside and we’re waited on promptly and in a friendly fashion.
Food service was timely. The “salalta sopstra” was nicely done with large chunks of cucumber, slices of tomato and raw onion with the usual cheese; I enjoyed it. The veal soup was savory with an adequate amount of veal, enjoyable and not very salty. The fresh trout was nicely presented with two of them sitting upright on their bellies on the plate. The steaming meat underneath the crispy skin was not quite dry well not being very flavorful. It was rather boring. For fish that was probably caught earlier that day from the nearby lake, I had expected more.
The service was very good and the pricing is fair; maybe other menu items would have been more to our liking. WouldvI come back the next time I am in this charming village? Not sure.

The spectacular historic ship in which this restaurant is located makes your culinary experience a total success.
Great fish (carp, trouts, eel,…) and top quality vegetables from local gardens served by the friendly staff of Silistra.
We had a delicious fish soup, fried squid, greek salad and grilled vegetables, all this was served with a wonderful local white wine from a near by winery.
We stayed for 3 days at Virpazar and this is definitely the best restaurant we visited.
Thank you to the staff and owner of Silitra for making our stay and dinning experience something to remember.

Located on the water with lovely views in a small village.
We enjoyed a quick bite and glass of wine, clean restaurant, service was fast and quality fresh food.
A little overpriced for Montenegro, but I assume this is a popular location for tourists during normal times. Only accepted cash.
Considering our visit was after tourist season and during restrictions, the restaurant was well visited.
You were kept company by a herd of cats throughout your meal, therefore I would recommend avoiding if you are not a fan of cats.

Silistria is a very nice atmospheric restaurant in the small town of Virpazar. The service was nice and the platter with fish was very tasty and I would recommend it. You sit funny, but, touristy on a boat with a good view of green bushes.

Perfect place to refuel after a boat trip on Lake Skadar. Only 9€ for a lovely fresh local grilled trout was a bargain and the restaurant being on an old boat, in a shady spot, tucked out of the way from the main village was a very welcome escape from the heat and crowds too. Service was a little slow (as with most places in Montenegro) but very friendly. Beware that you can only pay in cash, though.

Great food. Great location. Great service. Great views. What more could you want? Don't forget to try the desserts! And the crispy chicken (mains) and the breaded olives (appetiser) were amazing! Must learn how to bread olives like that!

Lovely location on the river so away from the bustle of the main square and a wonderful view of the bridge.
The food was fresh, plentiful and reasonable value for money.
Service was excellent and the waiter very attentive to make sure we had a good evening.
We had two starters shared between 4 of us and there was more than enough food. to the point we could not finish the mains.

Lovely atmosphere and views, friendly professional staff. Extremely tasty food, large portions. Enjoyed it so much I came back my second night in Viparzar. Carp is amazing.

A great atmosphere and the food was good value for money. What made our experience extra special was our waiter, Peter. He could not do enough for us. So friendly and welcoming.
Just be aware that this is a cash only restaurant so make sure you have some on hand, but if you don’t, no worries, there’s an ATM a stone’s throw away. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great unique setting on a beautiful and well maintained river boat. The staff were very friendly. We had the crispy chicken which was great. The cocktails were also decent!

Quirky location to have a very pleasant meal. I had fish broth followed by roasted vegetables and cheese - I don’t eat meat. My husband had chicken. Good value and nice service - would recommend
