A family run taverna with very nice and loving atmosphere. Beautifull rooms with view to the city square. The kitchen is the very best. All homemade food from the very bottom. Everything so nice and clean. If you have been here once you will come...back. I did that for 11 years😀More

The food is like not from this world. My BEST meal in Crete. Everything is prepared so lovingly. The restaurant is run by the family. The food is produced from local land and absolutely sustainable. 100% Cretan food. Konstantina, who served us is one of...the best waitresses I ever met. The lady who cooks is a great woman. I felt like home while I was there!More

We had an amazing dinner with typical and local food! Everyone has been really kind and the bill was very cheap.

The place is simply wonderful. Not only the (freshly renovated) rooms, the atmosphere and the (awesome) breakfast and traditionally cooked meals, but also (and especially) the hosts where so lovely, we wished, we could've stayed longer. Thank you so much for accommodation :)

Each day after walking the gorges and ancient coastal paths of Sfakia we looked forward in anticipation of delicious Cretan food, wine and raki. We were given vegetarian soups, hummus, courgette cakes, and meat balls for starters.....lamb, delicious rabbit and meat on skewers for the...main course. Some form of pudding and raki come as a gift. This is a special place and you will want to come back.More

Having read some good reviews, we escaped busy Hora Sfakion for the mountains. After sunset, we drove up dark roads until we came to Anapolis’ main square (or rather roundabout), where the lights of Platanos invite dinner guests; a mix of local regulars and tourists....The food is divine. Don’t go by the menu, go by the waiters’ advice. They know what’s best on that day. All of it is incredibly well prepared. More importantly, the service is truly outstanding. Saying “service” doesn’t do it justice. Everyone was genuinely welcoming. On TripAdvisor, that’s said for many places where staff are merely professional. Here, everyone makes you feel at home and like a long lost friend. We travel with a small kid, which seemed to be the highlight for waiters and owners alike. I love places that put an emphasis on welcoming guests with kids, giving parent an easy time. Everyone took time to talk with us, take care of the kid, little things like that which make a stay so much more enjoyable. We went back a second night, which apparently upgraded us to regulars and even more warmth. Overall, this place is amongst my global favorites. Simply good food, in an atmosphere which will leave you wanting to come back.More

We stopped here for lunch on the spur of the moment and were glad that we did. We went veggie today, with a Cretan salad and a spinach pie. Plus great coffee too. Lovely staff, excellent value. Highly recommended.

We come here every year for the excellent food and warm family atmosphere. Traditional cretan food with affordable prices and pleasant international clientele. Perfect for excursions on Mount Paxnes and many other enchanting paths on White Mountains. Highly recommended.

We took the afternoon bus up to Anopoli from Hora Sfakion. The bus stopped in the village square just outside Platanos. it felt like a mountain village with cooler fresh air and lots of greenery. We had a beautifully furnished and comfortable room above the...restaurant. For evening meal we asked for chick pea soup and lamb but sadly one of the many activity groups who frequent these parts had had first pick at the menu so we had one portion of lamb and some equally delicious goat. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the value for money was exceptional. We shall be back!More
