My husband and I were just in Westvleteren where we went to Den Engel for dinner twice. We were pleasantly greeted and felt right at home. The food was amazing! They also had a great Belgian beer selection. Jhonny and Patricia were very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back next time!!!

Great food, friendly service. Spoke English well and was beautiful next to a church. Very creative menu that was delicious!! They recommended the burger and we went for it and boy were we glad we did. Not an American hamburger, but literally a ham burger and it was great. Big portions and great fries. They also have a great selection of delicious beers.

We had a quick & late dinner at this place, which was close to our B&B, after a visiting tour of the area. They offer a good choice of "plus-size" snacks such as (Belgian-style) spaghetti bolognese, croque monsieur, pasta of the day/week etc. The portions are pretty big but tasty, and there is a vast array of not too expensive beers to accompany them. Rather cosy too.

Here on our day out (a Sunday), the family (2 adults, 2 children) came to eat at noon.
Recommended!!
Top hostess, welcome, service, and most importantly the food, delicious TOP.
If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely come back.
Small information: for those with children still in pampers, highchairs available and a changing table in the toilet room.
