We've eaten at the Fox and Goose a few times over the last couple of years and never had a bad meal. To look at from the outside the place doesn't look anything special, slightly rundown, quite dark inside, building in the car park dilapidated,...More

Found this pub many years ago after reading a review in the Good Food Guide. We always worry that it might have changed but as yet it remains as excellent as ever. A warm welcome with a good choice of drinks not outrageously priced. Ate...More

A quick look at tripadvisor and this place came up as we were driving through to Lynmouth. Two excellent lamb roast dinners (with a little spare for our son when he awoke) and great service. Highly recommend, thank you.

Externally this Inn looks a little tired but looks can be deceptive. We just had a drink and a bowl of soup as a light lunch and it was excellent. Would definitely go back.

Mixed response to our lunchtime meal in this homely hostelry at the heart of a tiny Exmoor village. I enjoyed the steak pie, made with Guinness and mushrooms, but my wife was much less enthusiastic about her burger. Neither handmade nor homemade, she felt. Both...More

Myself and my partner stopped here for a bite to eat this week. We were both famished from a day of walking around exmoor zoo. We opted to have a starter and a main... We did not anticipate how hearty the portions would be. The...More

We were recommended this pub after visiting the preserved railway at Woody Bay. A little put of by the very plain exterior and even more so by the stuffed dead animals on the wall, not to everybody's taste. But we persevered and had lunch here....More

Traditional locally sorced food at its very best. Good menu and high standards bit off the beaten track but well worth finding especially for the locally caught fishn and locally sorced meats and cheeses
