When we went out for Dinner in the small touristic Town of Marstall, we expected, at best, to find a Place with decent Rumpsteaks. Den Gammle Vinegaard seemed to be the best choice, but due to the size of the town our expectations where not high. However the cosy, beautiful garden let our hopes rise. But then opened the menus... The outside courtyard has great ambience and is family friendly. However, the food was disappointing. The ryebread and salad was store-bought and boring. The fried fish was dry. However, the smoked salmon and fiskefrikadeller were nice. This place has potential but we were underwhelmed.

We visited this restaurant after reading some good reviews - but it was a great disappointment. They messed up our drink although we didn't ask for lots of different drinks. The waiting time was long although there was only another group of six at another table. The fried plaice the waitress recommended was soaking in oil and hardly edible. The... More

Cosy restaurant. Nice courtyard. Good food and child friendly. Prices OK. Can be recommended for families with children.

This place is about 10 minutes walk from Marstal's marina, on the main street. Having booked ahead we (a party of 8) arrived at the same time as a (larger) pre-wedding party. However, service was good and we weren't kept waiting too long for food. My plaice (roedspaette) was excellent. Portions were generous. Note: no international credit cards are taken.... More

We meant to go for Chinese food, but the restaurant was full. This was the best surprise of the trip. Looks like a tiny pub. Wow, the food and service was excellent! Best steak in Denmark; grilled goat cheese salad was amazing; even the kids fish & chips and spaghetti were outstanding.

This charming bar/restaurant serves up a pretty good asparagous soup with meatballs. Only thing that keeps it from getting full points is the occasional wave of cooking fumes that floods the restaurant.

Try a Guinness with black currant, top taste! My daughter had pan fried "Roedspaette" (a flat fish) with parsley sauce and potatoes. The fish almost filled the entire dining plate. I had the days menu: Poached cod, with caper sauce and potatoes. Very tasty, yum. For dessert we had pancakes with blueberries and a lovely cream invented by the chef.... More
