Called in for a quick Sunday lunch on our way to Portsmouth. Thought we may not get in with all the Morris dancers celebrating St George's Day, but the restaurant area was relatively empty. Chose the carvery which was excellent with a good choice of veg. Speedy service and well worth a visit if you are passing.

We visited the Bell on our way home, for a spot of lunch on the road with our 2 kids. The staff was charming and the food delicious. A very pleasant surprise indeed. Constructive criticism: the veg need a bit more attention (e.g. herbs, sauce etc to add taste and texture). Red wine lamb shank a delight. Keep on good... More

Just popped in on trip back from Devon with our two dogs and what a warm welcome we got, especially the dogs -- biscuits and a big bowl of water "on the house". Genuine 14th century inn, low beams and a host of knick knacks. Lovely lady innkeeper and Interesting menu. Unfortunately we didn't have time for food on this... More

Chose this pub as a meeting point as it was a central meeting point for a group travelling from Hampshire and Devon. Ideal location as just 5 minutes off the A 303. We were all made most welcome, including my dog, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We went twice to the Bell last weekend, for lunch each day. It's a really lovely pub, beautifully redecorated. The food was good and the Wylye bitter excellent and brewed locally. Our puppy was welcomed and we had a great time.

Food was excellent, as was the wonderful huge fire, lots of pub games to play and really reasonable prices. Love the collection of ceramic and glass bells too. The place is truly loved by the people who run it. Thanks for a great evening.

The wine and beer were great. Reasonably priced and very nice. The food was terrible... A "rib burger" that was some sort of mice patty. I guess the animals it was made from had ribs at some stage but that was the only claim this burger had to being anything like a rib. The pizza was warmed (not quite enough)... More

Thankyou for your review. We at The Bell apologise that your experience was not a good one. A burger by definition is a patty of minced beef or similar meat (in this case pork rib seasoned with smokey BBQ spices) so I'm not sure what you were expecting when you ordered the BBQ Rib Burger. Our handmade pizzas are very... More

The Bell is a fantastic village pub under its new management. Andy, Lorraine and family provide a warm welcome, good, honest pub food and always make our little girls feel welcome. The Sunday carvery is excellent. Since re-opening the pub in September (2016), they have worked hard to get to know the village, support events and be very much part... More

As a result of an advert in a local paper my wife and I visited the re-vitalised Bell to sample the Sunday carvery. Our reception was warm and cordial and we discovered that most of the staff were family members. This gave a pleasant atmosphere, reflected in the quiet ambience even though the Inn was well attended for lunch. It... More
