I recommend any Thai food, but especially food with duck. I love her Duck Curry or spicy Sliced Duck. And don’t forget only 70 Baht for a large Chang Beer, and such a price in a tourist area !

Fresh seafood restaurant. Pick your fish or lobster. Seafood salad was so delicious, plus shrimp fried rice, yum. And they have take out.

I come regularly to eat in-house or take-away, because Red Onion serve the best mixed vegetables with steamed rice in the neighbourhood. The veg aren't cooked to death, but still have some bite to them. And it's not just cabbage, carrots and tomato either, but...there are mushrooms and baby corn slivers, too, plus other yummy stuff. The non-vegan menu is great, too. A friend tells me they also make the best Pad Thai. Staff are super-friendly. It feels like a family-run affair. Go!More

We visited this restaurant after having a disappointing first meal in kata elsewhere and this restored our faith- great service and really good authentic Thai food!

Get there early to get a good seat. Staff friendly and helpful. Best Red Duck curry I have ever eaten. Meals are generous and authentic Thai. Good value for money. Great variety of items on the menu including Western style food. Family friendly, relaxed atmosphere....Will definitely go back.More

This was our favourite restaurant. The food was tasty, and a lovely lady looked after us. It was very busy but the service was good and we kept going back for dinner to this lovely place.

My family and I popped in for an early dinner and though the restaurant was empty on arrival, we were very glad to have eaten here! We were on the hunt for Panang curry and the flavours here did not disappoint. Off the typical high...street track a bit but well worth it!More

Stopped here for lunch on our last day in Thailand. Quiet spacious place with a fan over each table, which helps to fight the heat. The service is better than in other places, the food was also way better than in other high-rated and now...touristy restaurants. We had glass noodles with chicken, fried noodles with beef and sweet and sour pork. The taste of all these dishes was great, unfortunately we found out this restaurant only on our last day.More

Well myself and the family have enjoyed Red Onion many times at the previous Karon location so were pleasantly surprised to find they have moved to Kata as that's where we were staying this time. Let me say we were not disappointed. We had the...whisky chicken, a divine fried rice, and a deliciously creamy and spicy massamun curry. All of it amazing! We came back the next day to savour some more. Do yourself a favour and try it!More
