The lunch was really delicious, the staff were so helpful and the landlady was overseeing the restaurant to ensure everyone was well cared for. Aldborough is a beautiful village too. Sunday lunches can be such a disappointment, but not this one. Thank you x

Ordered a pint of beer and a cappuccino and asked to see the menu. I was told the menu would be brought with the coffee. After quarter of an hour, I asked one of the bar staff, would my coffee be long, to be told, 'O have you not got it'. She then asked some one in the bar area... More

After a traumatic weekend my wife and needed something to calm us down and arrived unannounced at the Ship Inn on a hectic Saturday evening. Could we have a table in the bar because we had our little dog with us? No problem. We ordered fish pie for 2 and it was beautifully served with a thick cheese topping and... More

Went for an evening meal with parents and two dogs. The village is lovely and the pub brilliant. It was how you hope a village pub should be. The food was fantastic and the service excellent. The staff and the locals were really friendly. Can't recommend it enough!

Busy on a Friday night, but enough waiting staff and they were always friendly. Starters were nice (salmon, and a spinach risotto). One many course (Chicken Kiev) was "merely" good (bit dry - I expect some liquid in the middle of a chicken kiev really), but the pork belly was absolutely amazing - tastiest restaurant dish I have had -... Just returned from a lovely bank holiday lunch at the Ship, a lovely traditional village pub with a wide range of drinks and food which never disappoints. I've enjoyed all dishes I've had from the menu and can particularly recommend the delicious fish pie! :o)

Called in for evening meal, whilst staying in the area. A nice welcome from barman and quick service from pleasant staff. All in all a nice experience and value for money

Celebration lunch for twelve: all ordered a la carte, and everybody surprised and delighted by the wide menu choice, quality of the dishes and the finishing touches. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced desserts, too - children's ice creams at £1-75. What's not to like?

Haven't visited here for a short while but it's as good as always. The food is amazing, always cooked to perfection and never a long wait even if we haven't booked. The staff are very friendly, polite and efficient, never a bad word to say it's just a great little place!

Having been here many times in the past I am really dissapointed to say it no longer ticks the boxes for me. The place itself is looking really tired and not too clean, the toilet floor alone would put people off. The curtains are well past shabby chic and more dogs bedding ( no that's an insult to dog owners)... More
