I heard about The Ship Inn due to some family members of mine who had said how good the food was, and me being me I had to see for myself if it was up to scratch! It was in the evening that me and some old friends decided to pop in, we didn't book but we still managed to... More

A haven of warmth & welcome on a bitterly cold bracing winter day. Great staff,- friendly, helpful & good at their jobs,-super service. Wide choice of delicious dishes served with love. This is clearly a business that puts the customer first. So good to find a family-owned pub which has retained its character. I do hope the locals appreciate what... More

Once a month our local dowsing group meet at Boroughbridge for a discussion or workshop. Apres natter, we adjourn to The Ship for some liquid refreshment and a pub meal. However, we also host our annual Christmas Dinner here and can heartily recommend the quality and value of the food and service. Thank you Elaine and Brian.

Whilst in the area last week we went for lunch two days on the trot as the food is outstanding to say the least . The quality of the locally sourced ingredients is very evident and the skill of the chefs putting the flavours together is mouth watering , the beef the Yorkshire way will stay in my mind for... Friday night. A wintry chill in the air. Visiting the Ship put a very nice warm feeling in the stomach The staff are friendly and the food is delicious. The fish and chips I had was scrummy Well worth a visit. Quaint and old too. Opposite the church.

Lovely meal in the Ship Inn tonight . A cosy place with coal fire blazing on this cold night . The food was delicious . Homemade steak and kidney pie was fabulous with chunks of lean meat . Really good winter warmer. Well done everyone 👍

A cold Friday night in early November. I expect it was raining and it was certainly dark and gloomy.... We entered the Ship and we're instantly warmed the smiles of the staff, the taste of the wine and in both me and my wife's case, the gorgeousness of the steak and kidney pie. True winter food to leave you happy... More

Although this pub is popular with people who dine, it is worth noting that it is also a pretty decent pub. The decor is of the old-fashioned pub style with lots of dark wood and a cosy fire, and the beer was good. Service was also quick and friendly.
