Our small group decided to dine at the Chequers Inn after leaving a very disappointing hotel experience at the nearby Ettington Chase Hotel, the warm friendly greeting and attentive service were very much welcomed after the rude hospitality we had received across the road! We opted to sit in the bar area which was both modern with a rustic vibe... More

We were pleased that the restaurant, though busy on a saturday night, managed to squeeze us in. Because of the time restriction we settled for a main course plus a sorbet. Both of us were very happy - I had the Morrocan Lamb and my wife the Pork Belly. Our only criticism was the lack of vegetables.. There were tiny... More

We passed this place on the way to the Ettington Chase hotel, where we were staying for a few days, and after trying the horrendous restaurant in the hotel we ventured out to find something edible. And what a fantastic place we found!! Just around the corner from the hotel we popped in and had a warm welcome into the... More

We are local to the Chequers and popped in for something to eat, the food was disappointing, the chips were cold and overcooked, would not have minded the high price tag, if the standard had been better ,but frankly we were disappointed. Maybe this was chefs night off!!! Thats how it felt.

Invited by friends for a meal at Chequers and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The food was good although the menu was not extensive and the atmosphere and service equally good. Would certainly recommend

Passed this on our way to Stratford and decided to call in on our way back. So glad we did as it was wonderful. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the whole atmosphere great. The food was all freshly cooked and choice of menu very good. Everything about the Chequers is excellent and well worth a visit. Will... More

Ample parking, good facilities and a lovely garden at the back of this pub make it a nice stop for a summer lunch. We had delicious home based soft read coriander chicken wraps, and returned with a large family for an excellent supper. The decor is in the ubiquitous grey, but clean and smart. In the larger gathering I was disappointed... More

Staying at a near by hotel we were recommended to this place because of its good food. The place was pleasant and the young girl who served us was welcoming and a pleasure to be served by. The steak sandwich was great and although the curried courgette soup was nice I think could have been more curried if that makes... More

Found this gem by accident , staying locally in a hotel, the food was unreal. The staff were so good, friendly, polite and regularly came to check on you without being over the top. This establishment has it all, decor is beautifully done, it's a really great pub and high class restaurant all in one, they got it just right.... More
