We stopped in for hot drinks at Attleborough's Griffin and found it a relaxing and well run hotel/restaurant. The bar area is timber framed and decorated in a style in keeping with the history (opened circa 1560) of the building. It has a nicely bricked fireplace, and the dining area has well placed tables for quiet chats while dining. There... More

Visited this pub with friends for lunch, had a toasted sandwich which was very good served with a side salad. Friendly staff and good service. Décor is very dated although clean and tidy really could do with updating without losing its coaching inn look

Stayed 1 night on 14 May in room 2. Single room which was more of a corridor with a grotty bathroom, curtains which were faded and half hanging off the poles, filthy with dust, bathroom had a shower and the doors were not even on the Hinges and hairs in the shower tray. I was too scared to look at... More

Stayed 2 nights, but, unfortunately the resteraunt was closed, so cant comment on that. However, the breakfast was just the job to start the day !. Room was clean, warm & had everything you would want, towels, tea & coffee etc. The staff were great. Had a decent pint in the bar, good choice there. It could have maybe done... More

We met up with friends at this venue. What an unpleasant experience. They only had one hand pump real ale on which was Abbott ale. My wife wanted a glass of Pinot Grigio but they only had a single serve bottle of sauvignon blanc. It was served in a dirty glass. The pub smelt of cigarette smoke which I soon... More

Always a good eat. Solid inn food well prepared but not too imaginative - prepare to be fed rather than impressed by presentation or originality.

So, this is not a chain with huge budgets to spend on creating an identical experience to that you would have in the next town. It's unique, locals drinking local beer propping up the bar. But that's what helps with creating a warm atmosphere. Yes the decor etc could do with a bit of a refurb, but a few drinks... More

Sadly we visited the Griffin for dinner and left very disappointed. The starters were excellent!!! The mains however, nor so!!! We ordered lasagne, steak and kidney pie and 2 sirloin steaks, which were the problem. We weren't offered steak knives and had to ask as the normal knives just weren't up to the job. Over 80% of the steaks were... More

Was booked in this dump with work, really dated rooms with uncomfortable for beds, aweful selection for breakfast. Just glad I wasn't footing the bill...
