Just a 10 minute walk from Chateau Feely, we thoroughly enjoyed the lunch & dinner enjoyed here prepared by the "mom & pop" Madeleine & ? (the chef). Beautiful location in a wonderful little medieval village.

This little restaurant in the village of Saussignac is far out of the tourist track but frequented by many of the Brits who flock to Dordogne. Food is excellent, atmosphere a little tense.

This is a great place for a meal in Saussignac. We had reserved for dinner and sat out on the little terrace in front of the restaurant. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and helped us with our food choices. We shared a delicious starter of foie gras du canard - an extremely generous portion- and this was accompanied... We stayed just a short distance away from the Lion D'Or and actually ended up eating there 3 times, 2 set lunches and one a la carte evening meal. on each occasion the food was great and the owners were absolutely charming and we felt like we were dining with friends. The food is all fresh and is prepared totally... More

Went for dinner as staying at Chateau Feely for a wine course. Lovely traditional French restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. Plain but tasty food and a pleasant spot to while away an hour or two. Would recommend the very garlicky scallops.

We have visited the Lion D'Or before and loved it, but decided last night to eat there at the last minute. Knowing that they serve last orders at 8.30, we phoned and they were so accommodating. We sat outside on the terrace which is delightful. As in out previous visits, the service, ambiance, food and house wine were all excellent.... More

We were slightly hesitant at visiting this restaurant due to the negative reviews it's received but we had a lovely lunch! We had cycled there and were greeted by the friendly owners. I had salmon which was fresh and delicious and my husband had the rack of lamb which was cooked beautifully. Very relaxed dining with a good wine list,... More

My partner and I had an evening meal and then returned the next day for lunch of the day at this restaurant. The owners were very hospitable and did all they could to help us understand the menu. The food was basic but well cooked and presented and very reasonably priced.

Family run small restaurant. Best to eat outside under the vines of the house. The husband and wife team run the show and many of the dishes have been perfected over the years so the menu doesn't change much. Ideal for a family dinner - great personal service
