It's set by the Gulf of Finland - and was the original structure on the site of the magnificent Grand Palace. It is also gorgeous. Restrained, yet elegant. Don't miss the interiors and the gardens just outside

This restaurant was convenient while touring Peterhof. Food was not elegant but was tasty. A quick relatively inexpensive way to grab lunch.

In contrast to the ostentation preferred by his wife, niece and daughter, Peter the Great prepared to stay in this tiny villa close to the shore - well worth a visit. Tickets available nearby

This is more commonly spelled Monplaisir. Please see my and other reviews under that spelling. But, of course, both are transliterations from the Russian so there is no right spelling. Definitely worth seeing.
