A scientific conference was organized in Sisak, Croatia, where we had to present our new findings. The gathering was held in an old hotel, which was not something special even during the communist era, when it was built. And according to today's high standards, which Croatia, as an extremely popular tourist country, strives to adhere to, the hotel was a bit creepy.
But we had to go to a restaurant in the city for lunch. The city of Sisak, situated on the right bank of the river Kupa which was founded by the Romans under the name Siscia, saw better days. And not only at the time when it was the capital of the Roman province of Savia but also until the Second World War when the nice buildings in the city centre were built.
The restaurant Cocktail we visited is situated in an inconspicuous side street near the hotel. But entering the restaurant ends everything unsightly and the magic begins.
The wide bright space of the restaurant not cluttered with tables with snow-white, linen tablecloths and napkins as well as shiny china and glasses immediately relaxed us. The polite waiters with face masks and promising Menu, reinforced the good first impression. The six of us ordered a variety of meat and fish dishes. Each dish was made from fresh ingredients and brought to the table at the same time. Homemade white and red wine was priced of appropriate quality. We spent a pleasant time eating good meals which we eventually paid the right price for.
Is the reason our enthusiasm Restaurant Cocktail coronavirus disease pandemic because we have less coming out, so we dropped standards? Maybe. It does not matter because we ate well and had a good time.

After long 3 and a half years i had chance to return to Sisak for my favourite lunch at my favorite restaurant. And not suprisingly, again the same, best experience.
this time I had local fresh water fish prepared crusted in mixture of perfectly blanded seeds.
Portions super generous, food perfectly fresh and coulinary skill outstanding.
I can't wait to eat there again. Thank you Cocktail team for meals that I can't forget.

Well, how about this for surprise! Sisak is industrial town situated deep into Croatia’s province and we weren’t expected to find much of gastronomic possibilities. But this restaurant has it all – nice interior, big and pleasant terrace, good service and, above all – high quality food. For first dish we ate šurlice (type of traditional pasta from Croatia’s north coast) with porcini, and this was one of the best prepared pastas I had in a long time. Simply delicious! Main dish was zander fish ala “orly” (fried) with fresh salad on the side. That was also very good and the portions are not small at all. Small details also make difference – couvert was tasteful: roasted bread with olive oil spread. Home olive oil is “Brist” – one of the best oils from Istria, which is top world’s region for olive oils. Home wine is excellent and fresh škrlet (regional variety form Moslavina). Espresso coffee was also prepared like it should be, without any mistake.
And prices are significantly lower in comparison with similar Zagreb restaurants.
My huge recommendation!

The interiour was fabolous, toiletes were extra clean, garden table we took was in deep shade and we hear sound of the wather that came from small fountain. I’ve ordered Rib eye steak with wok vegetables and hommade fried potatoes. Before main course arrived we had a few bites of toasted bread and Istrian domestic olive oil. It was good starter.
My main course came and I was very satisfied. The chef missed only few seconds on the grill to make this steak the perfect one. This is the only reason I have put 4 stars for this very good experience. I feel sad because I could not drink some red wine after this teriffic meal.

I was lucky to have dinner at Cocktail on the opening day after the restaurant renovated it's interior in March. And I was surprised to see that they also came out with a new menu! My family has the tradition that each person orders something different so that we can all try everything. We tried the octopus salad, tuna carpaccio, several soups, the wok, veal cheeks, ribs, stuffed pork sirloin..everything was fantastic! And I definitely applaud the variety on the new menu. Few restaurants in Sisak offer international cuisine.
Of course, the staff was pleasant and professional as always. Thank you for a wonderful birthday dinner!

Nice atmosphere, very professional and pleasant service and excellent food..
We ate calamary with fries and the dish was big and delicious..green salat was mentioned as a part of menu but it was on a plate only as a decoration..so it would be better to order a salat additionally..

Last Saturday we celebrated 80th birthday of my mother, who was born in Sisak. I’m glad we got a recommendation for this restaurant we’ve never been to – it was a celebration to remember!
In advance we have chosen a menu from a large selection of interesting dishes, we loved everything we ate, but I don’t know if we could make a mistake – it seems to me that in this restaurant everything is excellent. Very kind service, they helped us to choose the appropriate & excellent local wine, taking good care about us, so we felt very comfortable the whole time.
I am sure I will come back to this restaurant again … and again.

I really adore this place. It is nice inside as it is outside. And the food! Well food is delicious, I love grilled calamari very much and they make it great. The stuff is very nice,helpful and profesional. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Myself and my friends visited Sisak today and really struggled to find somewhere for our evening meal. We asked two local ladies who directed us to Cocktail Restaurant. We were welcomed and given an extensive menu to choose from. We sat outside where they had a beautiful garden and water feature (although, watch out for the Mosquitos!) and we instantly felt very relaxed! Myself and my friend had the grilled squid with caper and olive dressing with Dalmatian set (a potato and spinach type side dish) while our other two friends had the chicken with gnocchi and the herb crusted pork tenderloin with mustard mash and bell pepper salad. All of our food was divine and the portions were extremely generous. I highly recommend this restaurant and particularly our waiter Sanjin. They did not ask us to write a review but I felt I had to....this was a really great experience with great company and delicious food! Thank you!

My partner is from Sisak, and I visited Coctail first time a year ago and my comment was clear: best octopus salad (salata od hobotnice) in Croatia so far! And I had many! Different styles. But the Coctail style is unbeatable. And it still is! Mix of finely chopped octopus, cherry tomatoes, olives, rukola and I think it was fennel sliced to complement this mixture that was seasoned so well that no extra oil or aceto or pepper was needed. Simply perfecto. Šopska salata (special southern salad) followed and although I don't usually eat onion, I did not mind it in it, as it was also finely chopped. As main dish I took lignje sa žara (grilled squid) with blitva s krumpirom (special green vegetable spinach-like, mangold with cooked potatoes) and it came with special salsa from tomatoes, black olives, capari and it tasted exceptionally. Even the side salad with small green leaves was specially seasoned with olive oil and I think a bit of lemon taste, again great taste. My partner took marinated steak from pork neck with american potatoes wedges and special salad from cabbage and root veggies, it was again wonderfully seasoned and tasted deliciously. I forgot to mention that as a free offer at the start we got starter of home-made bread with home-made pate from fish, delicious.
Overall, whenever you are near Sisak (and Zagreb is only 40min drive away), check this place! Your taste buds will be happy ;)
And the ambience is very clean, modern, with nice bamboo garden and fountain outside. You can even enjoy a company of local cats.
