While the food at this restaurant was quite satisfactory, the overall experience was disappointing due to extremely slow and unattentive service. Meals arrived haphazardly and the staff’s rudeness overshadowed the culinary delights. The dining experience involves more than just food - service matters too, and...here, there is significant room for improvemenMore

Their new menue is very simple, smart and very delicious. Fresh local ingridients like young lamb, veal meat, fresh vegetables, homemade bread and mayo (aioli) play together just like good symphony. The service is pleasant and professional, thank you very much for nice and cozy...afternoon.More

We were visiting Lahemaa National Park, about 45mins east from Tallinn and decided to have a lunch in a nearby Viinistu. This place has rooms, terrace, bar area and then cozy restaurant side, right next to the sea. Service was really friendly and my lamb...meatballs and my wife's fish cakes were tasty enough for nice lunch. 100 metres from ths place is a nice looking Art Museum, so you can easily combine food for your stomach and soul :)More

I expect that when I come to eat at an unaasuming seaside restaurant, that I actually get very simple, fresh and tasto homey food. instead I got over cooked and unseasones fish, which lay on top of canned beans. That is not ok, on any...level. The awfulness cost 18 € which is hugely overpriced for the quality it represented. The entre, fish plate, was more or less well made. and the dessert, lime pie, did not deserve its name, as it was not fresh and summery, but extreamly sweet and I could taste no lime. What i would suggest to the chef there is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. Fresh fish, fresh salad and fried potatoes. That is actually good enough! I would not recommend this place to anyone. The alternative option is just to have the smoked fish a few steps away from the restaurant terrace.More

The restaurant, museum, marina and hotel complex at Viinistu are rightly popular, but head to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon/early evening in summer when there's also a theatre performance happening and be prepared to wait - for a table, to be brought menus, to...have your order taken and to get everything you ordered, drinks and food both. The wait staff are friendly and for the most part have the right idea; the problem, presumably, is an understaffed bar and kitchen. Between sitting down and being brought the menu we waited 15 minutes, then another 15 to get our drinks, and it was a whole hour before our meal arrived. When we later asked the server for the menu again, as we were pondering dessert, she warned us that their backlog of orders was very long and that we would be better off looking for something sweet from the nearby cafe - which at least was honest of her, but all the same... At least when our food arrived it was nice: I had the smoked pork, which was served with marinated red onions, pureed potatoes and a cheese sauce, while my husband had the cod with asparagus. Both were enjoyable, although my pork was a tad on the dry side. For drinks we ordered a pinot grigio and a prosecco, which the server managed to waste a good amount of by overpouring it, leading to it frothing over the side of the glass and dripping through the slats of the table onto the ground. For lack of other options we returned the next day - when it was much quieter - for a snack before leaving. I had the sweet potato fries with parmesan and aioli and my husband had the Caesar salad with salmon. Both were fine. We also tried the house lemonade (rhubarb) which was nicely balanced and not too sweet. Given the issues with the service - which were experienced by literally everyone at the restaurant, I hasten to add: all of the tables around us had to repeatedly ask if their drinks and food were coming, or for that matter for the menu in the first place, or for their order to be taken at all; and at one point one of the servers tried to explain the situation away to some Finnish tourists by claiming that "things go at a slower pace in Estonia" - I felt the prices being asked were excessive. Rather like the hotel, there's a lot of room for improvement.More

Short menu is always promising. I chose Cod (and fresh asparagus in white wine sauce) eventhough I'm not a big fan of cod. But the dish was very nice. Starters were delicious too, all three of us were very content. Eliisabeth served us superbly, extra...points just for her. Would recommend and probably will come back next year. Enjoyed also the atmosphere, views, area around the village and stayed in the hotel. Breakfast was also nice.More

We had just visited the art museum next door and went in for tea and coffee. The place is nice, had a calm ambience and looked after by efficient and friendly staff. We tried the shared starter which was very tasty and well presented. I...would go again for full menu. Views are spectacular!More

The decor of the restaurant is somewhat simple, however bright, clean and modern, and there are large windows which bring plenty of daylight inside and enable you to look at the sea. Our lady waiter was very polite. And the food, not expensive (dishes between...5 and 10 euros) turned out to be quite good. Simple (salmon terrine, clear fish soup, grilled chicken, feta salad), but fresh and tasty. Desserts were quite good too. We also had a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. The total bill for the 2 of us was less than 50 euros. Obviously one wouldn't travel here just for the restaurant but if you happen to be in Viinistu or around, it is a place to be recommendedMore

The location is really nice. But the food is not local, for example they serve champignons and no local (delicious) mushrooms. Or they have also no local fish on the menu, but you could order salmon from Norway...

Lots of leaf tea options for the tea drinkers amongst us, and a tasty coffee which my husband enjoyed. Quick service, place is decorated well with large windows to take advantage of its position by the sea, and a nice bonus of very clean toilets....Great views and lots of seating outside plus a big bike rack which made this a very handy stop for us in our cycle tour of Lahemaa. There is a sculpture in the harbour which makes for an interesting diversion too.More

I was brought to this restaurant when I joined a local tour to the Lahemaa National Park. It was a bit cold that day and all of us was a bit exhausted after visiting several places in the morning, so this was a very nice...place for fuelling up with clean restroom. First, wifi is included. Just ask the people there for password. Probably because it was part of a hotel, the interior decoration is lovely and warm with styles, but some cleaning at the window side is needed ( as I saw a couple of dead flies lying there). The price of the food serving there was acceptable, given that this is located within a famous tourist spot. I asked for a hot chocolate in soy milk but surprisingly they did not have it although they managed to find me a non-dairy substitute. May be soy milk is not very common in Estonia ( as I encountered the same problem when I visited other restaurant in Tallinn). Before serving the main course, the restaurant provided a lovely bread basket , with a mixture of traditional Estonian black bread and normal white farmer's bread. The restaurant has a lovely view outside. So, it should be quite nice to spend some times to walk around after meal.More
