Dropped in here for and tea and coffee. Prevention was great apart from mug of tea with no tea bag in it...so no chance to choose strength. Taste of tea was disgusting and coffee was clearly instant out of a jar. Cost was $2.50 each!...Most expensive in town!More
After reading all the positive reviews we were excited to try the ravioli, hot chocolate and empanadas. The restaurant had a cold atmosphere and didn’t feel welcoming. We learned that it has changed management which made sense when they didn’t have on the menu what...was previously rated highly. Service was slow, no wifi (as indicated in the window), and menu was different.More
I was really looking forward to the ravioli and hot chocolate after the great reviews. Times have changed at Cunani...it is new administration, which meant no WiFi, no delicious rum hot chocolate, and no Maria. Don’t bother ordering or asking for the ravioli. We waited...an hour for it (after being told 30min) and it tasted waterlogged .. no flavor to it at all..More
Visiting this restaurant after seeing all the positive reviews was a huge let down. There was no menu available, which is annoying, but I didn't hold that against them as I'm sure they use fresh ingredients and change it up day to day. However, we...went at dinner time and after reading all about the ravioli in reviews I tried to order that but was told it wasn't on the menu that night. Then, we were recommended empanadas and nothing else. Sure, they were good empanadas but it's not a dinner food at all, it's more of a snack. We ordered red wine as well and when the waiter returned he brought us a "recommended" maracuya wine. It was really bad. Feeling disappointed we left immediately after finishing the empanadas and were fairly annoyed with the high price for empanadas and lackluster wine.
If you're just looking for a snack and coffee during the day I'd say try the empanadas but not if you're on a budget.
The place itself was a cute and intimate place with alot of potential and I'm not sure if we went on a bad day or what but it was a grim experience. Makes me wonder how truthful many of the reviews are.More
We stopped by on a whim after dinner when having a walk. Decided to share a hot chocolate with a splash of rum and it took lots of self control to "share"! Ended up chatting with Maria Jose, the lovely host about chocolate, a topic...she knows a fair bit about. A very nice finish to our evening.More
The small menu card is filled nice food. The ravioli are a winner. Also we enjoyed selfmade lemonade and one if the best hot chocolate we had so far. Most of the used vegetables come from families garden.we loved it and we will come back...for this.More

Thanks for your comment. Im so glad you liked the menu specially the raviols... Enjoy your trip in Ecuador :)
I found a new favorite chocolate cake here at Cunani. Its made with Pacari cocao and it has just the right amount of sweetness. It's my new favorite dessert EVER! If its not on the menu ask for the bananas sauteed in passion fruit sauce.
