Thank you for your feed back : average food, average wine, what does it mean exactly. You are in the middle of Burgundy: we firmly believe that our wines are outstanding, if not the best in the world ;-) - sorry for that. You are...More

We visited a few times for a beer on the terrace. We also came on a Thursday evening for a family meal during the night market. It was a set menu and had a range of local produce and dishes. Service is great and would...highly recommend.More

We had dinner at Cafe du Nord, recommended by our hotel. It was a nice, very local and traditional restaurant. Staff was service minded and the locally produced food was a good and tasty. We forgot our sons teddy bear - and it had prime...location at the best table when we picked it up the next day 😀More

Stopped in Arnay-le-Duc for lunch and just happened to choose the Cafe du Nord and so glad we did. The entree of the day was a flavorful terrine that was better than many I'd had other places. Vegetables and a salad that accompanied the meal...were also very good and well prepared. While all this was very good for me the best was the creme brulee dessert which was richer than most I've had. Rather than the half inch of creme this version had three or four times the creme and was tastier than others I've had. It was a real treat with the cafe au lait. Sitting on the square the terrace of Cafe du Nord is a good place for people watching.More

My review from a few months ago was genuine. The cafe was genuine smart, lovely too so I went back. Sadly, with some of the same faces still there, what I got was glum, sad, tired faces. Last time, there were smiles and I felt...welcome. Now few staff seemed to care if I was there or not. And I waited patiently! What I ate/drank was OK, but the pleasure of the place was gone; it did not feel happy and no-one was even ready to be cheerful. It is the summer! Wake up and enjoy your customers!!More

Beautiful looking restaurant. Lovely quirky decor. Great looking menu. Sat outside with great house aperitif. But from then on it was a huge disappointment. The snails we ordered as a starter arrived with the main course. No wine as yet we waited and waited ....Still no wine. By the time it arrived we were half way through our main course. No bread either. Meat apparently fillet Charolais was very chewy. Had better and cheaper in far less pretentious places. Desserts were average definitely not a panecotta as described. Wouldn't have minded paying 35 euros per head if it had been perfect.More

We had seen the Cafe in the morning while we were walking around the town but it was closed until 11am. We had been hoping for breakfast! We decided to return in the evening for a meal. We were able to sit outside in the...sunshine and started with glasses of ratafia as aperitifs. We ordered the eggs meurette and the charcuterie plate and our daughter had an omelette. We all enjoyed the food, my eggs were poached and served in a red wine sauce - really delicious. We all chose puddings, a nectarine tart was a highlight, beautiful pastry and light crème pâtisserie. Very good homemade food and the restaurant shows a list of local food suppliers. Very enjoyable meal and evening. We would come back here if we stay in the area again.More

We found Cafe du Nord on a chilly wet Sunday and it was heaven to walk into the warmth of what felt like a classic, busy French bistro, and be seated by the window. Regrettably we were only looking for a light meal, so did...not take advantage of the daily menu, but the food we had was fresh and delicious. The vegetarian options were impressive. Wait staff were busy but welcoming and kindly tolerant of my imperfect French. Just wish we could have stayed for longer and eaten more!More
