This restaurant is a permanent fixture in Trentino life in this part of the country. I have no idea how long it's been there, like forever, but I sincerely hope it continues right on into the future. The food is traditional and delicious and the welcome always...homelike.More

We have been travelling 5 days around Lago de Garda. One day, in Riva de Garda a little bit tired of tourists and crowds we got in our car and head towards the Dolomitas. Less than half an hour from Riva we were in the...wonderful valleys of the Alps and we thought would be a good idea to have some food which would be very different from the fish and pasta we have had for the last days. in a small town Passo del Ballino in the road we found a tiny place, looking good. We were the only customers (September is definetely low season) but we discovered the surprise of the trip. We had a 5 stars trip (both hotels and restaurantes) but this was by far the best experience. the owner lived in the same building (as a matter of fact it has also a modest hotel within the same house) and you can tell when things are done by not only experts, but by people who really care. We had the "carne Salada" as the speciality of the area and of the restaurant and the best gnocci we have ever had in our lifes. Green gnocci wth spinachs and salad. Again, this is one of those restaurants (five or six, after 45 years) that we will remember all our life. If you are in the sorroundings (even if it is a two hours drive!) it is absolutely worthy.More
