Mhmm where to start, living locally we decided to go here after not being there for a while. The starters... my wife had the pate' which came out as just a slab of pate'. Seemed as though this is bought in and rather cheap.... My starter of crab was fine 7/10. The main meal of Lamb shank was nothing more... More

We felt excited to have found this pub that was well rated, lovely ambience, child friendly, good staff. However, we were hungry and really disappointed that there was nothing on the menu except salad for vegetarians. The waiter did ask if there was anything they could make for us off the menu. We ended up with chips!

I have been eating at the Dirty Habit on a regular basis for about 8 years . I have never been disappointed. A gastro pub with a continental twist. During the winter months there is always a Game dish. Local ingredients used. Great atmosphere . Great service. Definitely my favourite eating place in this area

We took our visitor from the USA to The Dirty Habit for a "pub" dinner prior to her return home. We have been many times before but the first time we have been seated next to access to the toilets, not the most enjoyable of experiences. Food, service and general ambience was excellent and apart from the aforesaid, had a... More

We popped in for a quick bite to eat. Great food, great beer and amazing service. It's a simple formula they do well. The staff were all so happy and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were very accommodating with our 1 year old son.

Found the this pub via google maps and paused there on the way to our hotel, to check out the possibility of a table for dinner. Liked the pub on walking in to it and decided straight away that it would be a nice place to have dinner, this feeling was increased on seeing the menu. So table booked for... More

We dined here with family members before leaving them in the UK where they have 2 year work contracts, so we wanted somewhere special. The Dirty Habit delivered in spades. The atmosphere was brilliant as was the friendly efficient service from the wait staff. All meals were prepared and cooked perfectly (lamb, shanks, chicken) as were the delicious deserts. It... Description
Theres nothing taboo about good food, so The Dirty Habit pub restaurant in Hollingbourne near Maidstone is perhaps misleadingly named. Of course the name actually refers to the origins of this historic building on the famed Pilgrims Way, close to the North Downs and dating back to the 11th century, The Dirty Habit started life as a brewery owned and run by monks who also allowed weary travellers to rest here as they made their way to Canterbury. Gloriously characterful, The Dirty Habit maintains features from throughout the intervening years, including cosy fireplaces and ovens, gnarly old beams and a long Georgian oak bar too. From the comfy Monks Corner to the beautifully refurbished terrace, theres a space to suit your occasion. While the bar serves a wide range of beers, ales and spirits, as well as a good wine list, the food menu caters for all tastes and budgets, The Dirty Habits award winning chef using locally sourced produce in dishes ranging from traditional British pub grub to more exotic offerings.
