My wife and I visited on a Monday lunchtime as we'd heard good reviews in the past, and were pleasantly surprised with how good it is. We were able to park very easily and were shown to a table and looked after throughout by the extremely efficient Ciaran. We went straight into mains and the food was of a very... More

My wife and I visited the Dirty Habit for our second occasion. We were not disappointed. The choice of fillet steak with prawns and a Kent plaice with all the trimmings were excellent. Fresh, tasty and great service. Always better to book as it is popular. Gastro pub prices but you do get value for money. We would return.

Had a first date here and despite the trepadation about the date found the Pub to be charning and full of character. Nice food, nice staff, shame about the date!!

Booking recommended, not a table free when we left. Booked for my mums birthday and we had great food, great service and a great setting to enjoy it in. The Sunday Roast went down a treat as did the fish and chips (big portion couldnt finish). There is also extensive choice on the childrens menu with great fresh ingredients. We... More

Visited here with family members. We were impressed with the service and ambience. The fish platter was excellent, but the Dirty Pig Board, which my son and fiancee had, was not to the same standard - there was quite a bit of gristle and fat. The brill and the guinea fowl were delicious. The prawn linguini was fine but unfortunately... More

We eat here on a fairly regular basis and always enjoy the warm welcome, friendly service and delightful food .Food is attractively presented and tasty, portions are of a good size and always served hot. It is always very busy but one doesn't have to wait too long between courses, as in some other gastro pubs. The specials board offers... More

Description
Theres nothing taboo about good food, so The Dirty Habit pub restaurant in Hollingbourne near Maidstone is perhaps misleadingly named. Of course the name actually refers to the origins of this historic building on the famed Pilgrims Way, close to the North Downs and dating back to the 11th century, The Dirty Habit started life as a brewery owned and run by monks who also allowed weary travellers to rest here as they made their way to Canterbury. Gloriously characterful, The Dirty Habit maintains features from throughout the intervening years, including cosy fireplaces and ovens, gnarly old beams and a long Georgian oak bar too. From the comfy Monks Corner to the beautifully refurbished terrace, theres a space to suit your occasion. While the bar serves a wide range of beers, ales and spirits, as well as a good wine list, the food menu caters for all tastes and budgets, The Dirty Habits award winning chef using locally sourced produce in dishes ranging from traditional British pub grub to more exotic offerings.
