How is Vagelaras Taverna rated?

Very nice view in the heart of the harbour, you see the mountains etc. However the food is 3/5 if you are hungry. We had shrimp saganaki, the traditional beef with onions (stifado) and a Greek salad. Honestly I do not know whether having 3...incredibly tasty dinners in the previous evenings made Vagelaras look poor, but it stood no chance. The beef was too cooked, the saganaki missed some essential spices and not even the basic Greek salad did not taste as it could have. Do not dare to order the house wine, at least the rose one that we tried. In conclusion, eatable food with exquisite view and good service, but far away from its peers in terms of testiness.More

Very nice restaurant

The whole village is beautiful and the restaurant is by the sea. Food was delicious and people extremely polite and friendly. Prices were fair. Everything was great.

Fantastic food and service

Had the best lunch here. Everything was utterly delicious and so was the great value when the bill came. It was hard to highlight anyone fish as they were all so good. We’ll Be Back ❤️

Incredible! We had to go back in our weeks holiday!

Brilliant food, beautiful setting. Honestly one of the nicest meals we have had. We went back a second evening. The portions were incredibly generous. We had mousaka, the meatballs and I had the veal steak. It was honestly one of the best things I have...eaten. Incredible value for money too. I can’t recommend it enough.More

Great Moussaka.

Great location. Good food and they even bought out some burning g spice to keep the wasps away. Moussaka was the best in town.

Brilliant

We have eaten many times here on our holidays in Vasiliki. It is always busy and with good reason. Unlike other places to eat nearby they are not trying to drag you in, they don’t need to. Extensive menu, helpful friendly staff. Their Moussaka is...the best in my opinion, it is a big portion so if you have some nice starters ( they are all good ) you could share it. Sometimes we just go for lunch and have a Greek salad.More

Good food…. Smiling faces…

Very good fish restaurant, next to the sea. Fresh salads and good first courses, with the exception of the anchovy marinade, which is canned and not homemade. The fish is fresh and very well fried. The service, despite the many customers, is fast, smiling and...very helpful.More

Good food and large portions

During the week we've stayed on Lefkas, this was the only restaurant who offered us highchairs for the 3 todlers in our group. This was reassuring to their parents as the dining tables were right next to an unfenced quay.

Best grilled octopus!

We had by far the best grilled octopus during our stay in Vasiliki! The portion is very big and very tasty, its much better then the others we had at different restaurants. Fried eggplants where also very very good! Service was top, friendly and nice...staff.More

Beautiful Greek taverna

Absolutely amazing. Read the 5 star reviews and do believe every word. The service, the food and the location is spectacular. The dishes come within minutes fresh and tasty.

Perfection!

The food was great! It was not expensive and it tastes wonderful. The waiters are friendly and they are attentive. The cats here are part of the wonderful sight. The view of the sea is superb

Good food

You have to try this tavern. The place is very nice, the view is amazing and the food is delicious. You have to try the calamari and the octopus.. so yummy. I have a just a picture with the mussaca :)

Great tasty food

Very tasty food . We have been together with our family for a lunch. We had fish - sea bass and sorada, mussels (incredible tasty), octopus, fried zuchini and other plates to share. Service was also excellent.

Please clean up the shrimps before serving, not all people know how to clean them. And the souflaki meat was too dry
