We called in on spec for a mid-week dinner and were shown to a table for four quickly, even although they were fairly busy. Our food was excellent nad enjoyed by all. The service was very friendly and efficient.

We stumbled across the punchbowl and ladle coming away from Tressilick House and Gardens, what an amazing find. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly, the chap who served us asked where we were from and unbelievably he knew exactly as his cousin lives nearby. I'm dreaming of the chicken supreme. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Amazing food, great service, really homely country pub. Bit out of the way but if you're staying at the local premier inn, an £8 taxi trip will get you to this amazing place!

I hadn't visited the Punchbowl and Ladle for years and made one of those spur of the moment decisions to visit for lunch. There is plenty of parking and the setting is in a small pretty hamlet close to a favourite National Trust property (Trelissick) that I visit regularly. The staff are friendly, my crab sandwich was delicious and my... More

Last night we went for dinner, four of us a local treat, the hotel was very busy but gave us a table in the bar area which was quieter than the restaurant. After a short wait, our drinks order was taken and when served our food order was taken. Only one of our party had starter, which was soup with... More

Description
A pretty, thatched traditional pub and restaurant, the Punchbowl and Ladle has masses of character both inside and out. Parts of the building date back to the 15th century and during the 17th century it was a hostelry for travellers and mariners crossing the river Fal on the King Harry Ferry. Legend has it that part of the building was employed as a customs house, and the original fireplace in the bar was used to destroy confiscated contraband!
Today, Graham & Jacqui Hill and their team welcome you warmly into the pub that has two bars, a large dining area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners for people to sit in comfort.
