This meal was, without doubt, the best we have had so far in Portugal. Not only was the welcome warm and friendly, the service was helpful without being intrusive and the food sublime! We had a steak, the dourade and the lamb cutlets - all three were fantastic - so good that we will be making the 3 hour round... More

Lovely service, and a really familiar and traditional feel. it's a small restaurant and quite noisy, but worth it.

This is a real local restaurant, with great food and a wonderful host in Andre and his sister Alice. It’s one of those places where everyone chats with each other across the room creating such a wonderful atmosphere. The food is cooked with perfection, not posh like some, just plain great cooking. The portions are large so go hungry. Andre... More

Like an earlier reviewer, we ate in this restaurant for the four nights that we stayed in the area. The clientele included both locals and visitors. In appearance, A Tasco do Zequinha is a small family run village restaurant. The dining area (upstairs) is small, but comfortable. Without a recommendation, you might initially give it a miss. That would be... More

Best of local, basic food. Good portions and very moderate prices. The place may seem too picturesque in the Portuguese hintherland, however you will not be deceived.

Without a recommendation we would not have found the restaurant or entered beyond the tiny bar area. We would have missed fine fish dinners- grilled cod and grilled bream respectively- simply served in a busy upstairs dining area. Luckily we arrived early, with only a small family group present on a Monday evening. As we got through our first course... More

Food is great as expected in any small restaurant. We went there on the advice of the staff of Casa de Canilhas were we stayed and were not disapointed. The decor is not the best but the food was yummy and the owner very friendly.

The food on the restaurante is simple, traditional and delicious. Price is very competitive. For the quality of food is very cheap. Environment is a tipical "tasca". Traditional either. Only reason not to give a 5, is that is not appropiate for couples. More appropriate for groups and families. Improvements ca be made on employees interaction with customers. Recommend to... More

We ate there for the four nights we stayed in the area. Yes this is down to lack of choice, but so many restaurants in tourist areas serve burgers, pizzas and chips but we loved it any way. Here the cook and her brother complement each other. The food is local, fresh and delicious and simply cooked and the portions... More
