The restaurant it´s not big, so, if you intend to have a lunch here, think about make a reservation one day before. The famous "Cozido" is made at Caldeira at the same day, 10 minutes away from the restaurant. Choose a Alentejano red wine to drink with Cozido instead Azores red wine! The staff is great!!

Food was fine, place is a bit school canteen like & tends to be as noisy! We had Forkbeard fillets which were nice but disappointingly lacked crispy batter. Other than that a good plateful of food with plenty of vegetables & salad. Would go back

The Cozido here is perfect and authentically prepared. The waiting staff was very friendly and professional. Love the village, love the restaurant - go here!

Well, I cannot compare with cozidos from other restaurants but overall, it was good. Vegetables tasted the best :-) We were lucky to sit at a table without a reservation but soon after our arrival it became rather busy and not everyone could be seated. I didn´t mind the simple look at all, the service was good. I only wish... More

Overall great experience - great cozido and good, no nonsense, service. Simple atmosphere - be sure to book in advance and if available book a table in the varanda as indoors is quite a big area with poor acoustics so a lot of noise. Good house wine. Try to have the whole experience and go to the Caldeiras to see... More

It's a good idea to call ahead or let your taxi driver call ahead for you to make sure they have both a table and their famous cozido or volcanic steamed vegetables and meats preordered. The food and the service was great. If you get a chance try and get seated on the raised balcony outside, especially on those warmer... More

Very impolite staff. We excepted fantastic traditional food named cozido, but we were very disapointed. Food had a lot of fat, looked awful and was untasty. Azores have a lot of fantastic restaurants, but this one is not one of them.

The cozido das Furnas is a typical dish from São Miguel's island. Another type of cozido is also found in the main land. This type of dish, which belongs to many culture's culinary syllabus, involves cooking a large number of disparate ingredients in a single pot, saving the juices for flavoring and dressing. In Portugal, cozido takes meats (beef and... More
