Went to Tony's for a dinner after reading positive reviews online. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Due to refurbishment only buffet available serving tasteless soup, oversalted chicken, dried chips, meat OK, fish not so good but most shockingly all food was cold! We have...More

We went for a dinner because we read the food for good. However because they are renovating the place they just had a buffet for £12. Never thought you can go wrong with a buffet?! The food was totally cold, even the soup. Soup was...More

After watching the cozido pulled from their screaming soils, we had a bountiful and delicious lunch here. The food was very tasty, the service friendly and attentive, and the experience authentic. Part of our tour of Furnas.

Stopped by in Furnas and went to have lunch at Tony’s. We ordered their cozido das Furnas (meat and vegetable stew cooked underground using the hot springs for many hours) for 2 which is more like lunch for 3 or 4. Very generous portions. And...More

Go to Tony’s for the food for sure but also go for the cozido and the unique way it is prepared. I know I have never eaten food steam cooked for 6 hours in a caldera steam geyser. It is a don’t miss experience. The...More

Tony’s is famous for the local delicacy, a hotpot cooked by being buried in hot earth next to bubbling volcanic pools for around 8 hours. Worth sampling once, in our experience. Restaurant is simple, very popular, should be booked, even in winter. Family friendly.

I had chicken breast and rice and fries. The chicken was over salted. Even the fries were not good and I’m really confused about how you can mess up fries .. someone recommend this to me but they were wrong. So wrong !

We went there on Christmas Day without a reservation, managed to get a table but they were out of the traditional meat stew. Had a tenderloin pork steak I steak which was the best tasting pork steak I have ever had. Delicious!

We came here for lunch and had wine, steak, chicken and fries with lots of bread on the side. The service was great and we loved dining with the locals and watching people interact and spend time together. Everything tasted delicious and portions were great.

I booked online a couple of weeks in advance, specifying we wanted the cozido since it requires 24-hour notice and we'd be off-line during that period. We were only on the island 2-days as a stopover on a trans-Atlantic cruise back to the States and...More

Yes you can. Call to book. You can eat family style. Don't forget to try the blood sausage. It doesn't taste like it sounds. They also have a selection of desserts. The wines are delicious. Have fun!

Check with hotel front desk. If you have any trips planned, also ask your tour guides. Excuse tardiness of response. Been traveling! Enjoy the Azores!
