My husband and I had a wonderful evening in Le Marquis. The food was exceptional, each dish exquisite in both flavour and presentation. Our hosts were most gracious. I would highly recommend this excellent restaurant and look forward to our return.
Only a 10 minute drive from where I live and I'm trying to work out why we don't come here more often as the everything about it is superb!
A charming restaurant with a warm welcome from Helma and her staff - talented husband in...the kitchen. We were a party of 6 and the food throughout was sublime and the house wine very good too.More
This was my first time in this restaurant. The meal and its presentation was amazing in everyway. There is no simpler way to describe it. The service and the staff were at the same standard also. I will certainly go back very soon.
We are looking for a new house in this area and while we are driving we found this cozy beautiful restaurant. Wonderful owners and the food was delightful. All fresh products and with a lot of love and care prepared.
Lovely hostess full of passion...for her establishment.
We can really recommend this restaurant even we have to drive 40 min for it!More
We have visited the Algarve many times and ate here for the first time on this trip. It really is a fantastic spot. A very relaxing, quiet restaurant with amazing staff. Our party had fishcakes, homemade pasta and chicken livers to start and all were...faultless. The ribs for main course are a must!!! Will definitely be returning!More
I came across this restaurant by chance as I was looking for a quiet place (so the luggage would be safe in the car) to have a last lunch before heading off to Faro airport. The fact that it is in such an old building...was also a factor in the choice as most places we had encountered were all very modern.
From the moment we arrived the service was second to none. The waiter and the owner were lovely and stopped to have a chat while we were sitting just taking in the idyllic atmosphere. As someone has said they have a set menu, but were happy to oblige when I asked if my youngest could have a plain steak and they also bought hand cut tasty chips out for her too!
All the food was absolutely fantastic - I could not fault any of it and the attention to detail over it all was amazing. The scallops were huge and to die for and the steak was like butter. I wish I’d know about it sooner as I would have gone there upon landing in Faro too!
Thoroughly recommend this place especially to foodies as there are lots of fancy items on the menu. It is not cheap, but it would stand up to any Michelin star place in london in my opinion.
Fabulous food, fabulous setting and fabulous hosts. What more could you ask for?More
Everything is nice at this restaurant. The staff is nice, the owner is a very nice lady, the food is superb and the live music definitely adds a nice atmosphere to the place. The looks of the house has a great style and the terrace...is the perfect spot to have lunch on these warm days.
Definitely a place to return.More
after the amuse bouch it was all downhill- we had to change wines halfway through our meal because we had had the last bottle of Kopke Douro red. The crab cakes were not a patch on the ones you can get in Ldle or Aldi...and the pork ribs seemed to be straight from a pre-cooked pack the sort you can buy at 3 for £10 in the UK the Pommes Pont Neuf were a joke -soggy and not over hot. At the next table was an incredibly badly behaved child making lots of noise and at one point crawling under my wife's legs at our table - his carers or parents or whatever took very limited steps to control him. If I wanted to eat in a creche I would go to a Macdonalds . Our waiter was pleasant enough.More
A lovely family run restaurant. We are made to feel so welcome by the hostess, Teresa and staff. The BBQ is fab and all freshly cooked with a great choice of meats and fish. Salads and deserts are great too. You must book in advance.
The restaurant is located in a building built in 1863 in the retirement home of Monte da Palhagueira. The restaurant has a fixed menu. In the summer months outside seat for up to 48 guests, In the winter months only inside with a maximum of...35. Closed in November and every Monday/Tuesday
The waiter Rashid was superb and explained in detail the menu and recommended.
wines. A wonderful meal and experience with our friends.More
Set in the gorgeous hinterland of Santa Barbara de Nexe, our Sunday lunch in the very attractive courtyard was well above our expectation. A fabulous buffet with a vast choice of dishes from the BBQ and starters and desserts which were ordered separately. The lady...owner was charming and made us feel extremely welcome. Definitely on the list of restaurants to visit again when we're next in the region. Well done !More
Great choice of menus and wines to be enjoyed at this restaurant. Cosy interior with a lovely outdoor space on the terrace. Food was served freshly cooked and presented to a high standard. Will definitely return here again.
This was our second time lunching at Le Marquis, and it will most certainly not be our last! It is such a friendly top flight restaurant, with a fabulous ambience and top quality food and wine. Congratulations - it made our Algarve holiday even better...than normal - and we’ve been coming here for 25plus years.More
Having stayed in the Borderia area near Estoi, this restaurant was recommended by the owners of the villa we were staying in. The terrace garden eating area was beautiful and quiet with the local church chimes adding to the atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly...but professional in their craft, no rushing, unobtrusive and knowledgeable about the wines. The food was very fresh, cooked to order and exactly what you would expect. Its was very tasty and nicely presented. I would definitely return to Le Marquis again and highly recommend.More
