Following a walk through the forest we enjoyed lunch overlooking the river. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who showed us to a table on the terrace. The menu offers a selection of tapas, sandwiches, toasties and a few other dishes...such as burgers. We chose a warm bread roll filled with four different cheeses, prawns with a garlic mayonnaise, baby squid with garlic and peas with poached egg (a traditional Portuguese dish). The food was excellent as was the friendly service. The meal together with a couple of beers was less that €10 each, great value for money. We look forward to our next visit.More
A Magical peaceful place!
Drove down though a stunning woodland to arrive at the Fonte Ferrea and behold this lovely little cafe in this idyllic setting. We ordered 3 tapas:
-Baby Calamaris sautéd to make a delicious sauce -a yummy cheese and chorizo stuffed bread...roll -and a sautéd potato and chorizo topped with fried eggs. All totally scrumptious . We would have ordered more but the portion were so generous even after this mornings 10km walk!
Unbelievably total bill for two of us 12 euros!! The cafe owner were so friendly. Can’t wait to return to sample their other delights!More
Great setting and a great lunch....this sandwich was for two of us so please don’t think I could eat the lot! Brilliant stop whilst out on our bikes and we shall definitely be making this a regular haunt.
MY favourite place, I took my son and family for lunch yesterday and, as always, the whole experience was just stunning. A plate of chorizo, cheese and presunta, bread olives, and other lovely tapas dishes, so simple but just so nice. Everyone should try it....Bikers, walkers, dog walkers and just anyone who wants a quiet but tasteful snack.More
This lovely little National Park is full of surprises, but its popularity with Bikers was a big one! The Cafe has an association with a mountain bike shop, but it's also a refuge for those who've enjoyed a wander through the trees. The menu is...a bit limited, but the quality is good. The terrace is the place to sit,and to rest the eyes!More
