Very nice place, we ate very well, fresh fish and generous portions. Very well trained waiter, from what we saw he spoke Italian, English, French, German and obviously Croatian. The bread was homemade and together they offered us an appetizer with marinated anchovies, onion rings and a sphere of tuna, mayonnaise and I don't know what else, obviously all delicious.
Fair prices, we took a risotto with shrimp (abundant) and the sea bass fillet (4 fillets) with the side dish, 1 large water and a small water and dessert, paying €50. Considering that we ate fresh fish, that's fine. Super recommended.

We had lunch at this tavern. The place is very welcoming with a view of the port, easily reachable. Very courteous and attentive staff, before taking our orders they treated us to an excellent appetizer (marinated anchovies with onion and creamed fish - photo). We ordered octopus salad (14€ - really very good - photo) and grilled sea bass with chard and potatoes (16€ - photo).. all delicious! (Two medium beers €4.50)

You may not be sitting in the front row by the sea, but you are more than compensated by the services of the restaurant. For 19 euros there was the very good menu of the day with three courses and amuse geul. Great value for money. Also the other dishes were very tasty and the portions very large at small prices. Really recommendable.

Joso Tavern in Preko amazed us with their irresistible pancakes. The generous nuts cream and Nutella ones were simply divine, and the service was impeccable too. We went there three times, and everything we had was tasteful. Highly recommended for an unforgettable culinary experience in Preko.

So, let me tell you about Taverna Joso—this gem of a restaurant over in Preko. Picture this: you walk in, and you're hit with this amazing smell of fresh fish grilling away. It's like an instant mood booster. And let me tell you, the food lives up to that initial promise.
The vibe is laid-back and beachy, which totally fits the whole island scene. You can practically feel the sea breeze as you tuck into some seriously delicious seafood. The menu's all about the freshest catch of the day, and boy, do they know how to cook it up right.
I went for the grilled fish, and let me just say, it was next-level good. Perfectly seasoned, with that crispy skin and tender flesh that just melts in your mouth.
The staff are friendly and welcoming.
So, if you're ever in Preko and craving some top-notch fish, do yourself a favor and hit up Taverna Joso.

Excellent fresh fish and squids from Adriatic Sea, made with excellent domestic olive oil. We have enjoyed so much. White wine was also brilliant. We recommend the Fish plate for 2 persons, but it's a lot of fodd, enough for 3 people!

All in all nice place, we ordered seafood plate and black risotto, the last was good (not the best we had) but the sea-food plate is huge and satisfying.
Tuna steak was cooked perfectly (not overdone) which happens rarely. Would recommend.

After having a quick scan of reviewes of restaurants in Preko I was pretty comfortable that we were not going to have a bad meal, no matter where we ate. Unfortunately we were to be proven wrong.
Let's start with the service. We were left waiting to be seated for nearly 5 mins after initially asking if there was space for us, clearly seeing free tables without reserved signs. After asking again, we were pointed in the direction of a table and left to seat ourselves.
I regained some hope after ordering drinks and food and some tune pate and fresh bread was brought out, which was tasty.
Despite the restaurant looking like they were following COVID guidelines quite well, the waiter leaned over the back of me to lay cutlery, which was totally unnecessary.
Whilst I was only halfway through my starter the main course was presented to me and I had to move my plate out of the way to make room for the dish which was put in front of me. I was clearly still eating my starter and no check was made before bringing the main out.
One of the dishes we ordered was forgotten and had to be reminded about.
We were left for ages and ages with our plates stacked to the side of the table with half eaten meals and had to actively seek attention from the staff to be seen to.
We had some issues with the food and provided feedback, which was met defensively. Whether it be a matter of taste or style of cuisine, the feedback was not at all handled well.
After asking for the bill, as I had had enough of this poor experience, it took another age to get the card machine brought over for payment. There was no apology and again the waiter was defensive about the feedback provided.
We've spent the last 10 days in Croatia, eating out at least 1 meal every day, and this was the first poor customer service and dining experience so far.
There are plenty of other places in town, do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere.

Beautiful hidden restaurant in Preko… this is a traditional Croatian/ Dalmatian restaurant… everything tested fresh and homemade. I was happy with the table service with table cloths and serviettes, changing cutlery
The service was polite in nice.
The toilets were clean

The waiter was very professional. We got an appetizer for free and it tasted great. The appetizer contains: anchovies with homemade tuna pâté - best combination ever!
The cold appetizer was homemade Dalmatin prosciutto with black olives and cherry.
The fish soup has a superb taste, but the grande finale of the lunch was the grilled shrimp. The best restaurant in Dalmatia we’re ever been.

Accidentally discovered and good that I discovered. Too good! The ambience is nice, cozy, tidy. Staff extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Serve fast just as much as expected for ordered meals. The food is fantastic. I do not make a grade based on one visit. I’ve been back to Jose’s a few times already, and I hope to do it again. I am very close to declaring this restaurant one of the best when it comes to grilling fish. The fish is always fresh. The groats are so brilliantly stored that you will lick your fingers. I haven’t seen such finely chopped parsley and garlic in a long time. Congratulations!

Upon coming to this Restaurant, we were welcomed by waiters and sitted on table for two. Food was great, we even got Tuna paté on house.
Only con is that we waited cca. 10 minutes to order, but that is because it was overcrowded, but 2 waiters on 30 people and more is little bit understaffed.

Fabulous food and really good service.
The bread to start? Little pillows of wonderment. Oh my gosh they were so good with some oil and salt.
Had squid, chicken, tuna steaks, pizza and more as six of us there.

This restaurant is amazing. The food and wine were fantastic. Our waiter Lgubo was so nice... he even gave us some free drinks. Probably the best place all round that we ate on our trip. Highly recommend. Thank you!!!
